Lame duck at Pike Central(Rumor)
#1
I have heard from a very strong source that Mark Thompson has been told that he will not coach at Pike Central after this season? Any thoughts on who could replace him?

Sad, but it might be reality. MT has had a rough two years. Again he is saddeled with some good athletes but the team concept is not there. This is typical for PCCHS.
You have kids walking out of practice, violating school policies, walking the halls and basically doing what they want. Then the coach or coaches knuckel under, due to who they are and who they are related to, and let them back on the team.
This sends a loud message not only to the other kids on the team but to the entire student\athletes at the school. Many situations have occured at PCCHS not only with the BB players but with many of the other student\athletes that has been swepted under the rug. Example: One student\athlete, not BB or FB, got in the face of the coach and used profanity, and I mean profanity!!!! And nothing was done about it. Oh I forgot, the coah resigned...said did not have to put up with this anylonger.
It is getting difficult for the Administration to keep the coaches he has. Another coach resigned this past week. He said and I quote "Tired of it." "Too much parental negative involvement." "Everyone of them is the expert coach and they know what it takes to be a winner." He also said the kids think they know it all when it comes to their sport.

Here is a solution: Let's let the parents coach the so-called student\athletes. Lets see how fare they go and put up with thier attitudes. I know, I know, there has to be a certified employee named as the coach. Then so be it, have a certified employee at the practises, sitting in their cars complaining like the parents do, but they would do it in a non-verbal manner, how bad the coach is doing. Have them at the contests sitting on the bench, because they have to, complaining like the parents do,but they would do it in a non-verbal manner, how bad the coach is.

It is a sad situation with solutions that maybe harder to come by.

So it's just a rumor, nothing substantiated. Hate to speculate on who the next coach might be if there is no truth to the current coach being ousted.

If this is true its nothing but the Pike Co powers at its finest and it looks like they are cleaning house at Pike Central. If i was a coach there in any sport i would be careful.
