Looks like if the favored teams win their regions and the first two rounds go as expected, we will be looking at 3 eastern KY teams in the semifinals. The top bracket will be probably be Hazard vs. Lexington Christian or Bardstown, with the bottom bracket being Elliott vs. Shelby Valley.

Of course, Elliott is the obvious favorite to win the whole thing. Hopefully Elisha will be healthy enough for Valley to give them a decent game.

I take issue with the last couple of statements. I think Shelby Valley will more than give Elliott a good game. Elisha is showing improvement the last couple of games. I would like to see the coach start Tackett and Evans together to take advantage of the height advantage and have Newsome come off the bench. I would like to see SV win but if they don't I won't be heartbroken. Go Wildcats(high school and college).

That might sound good but there's noway you cannot start Taylor Newsome, I sure you mean Tackett and Adams

I wouldn't count out Prestonsburg winning the 15th region. Shelby Valley has a rough road then Prestonsburg. Prestonsburg has a cake walk into the finals. Valley has to beat Betsy Layne then maybe a Pikeville team so Valley will have to play harder then Prestonsburg.

Alleycat53 you are correct, on further checking I realilzed Hatfield was not the other forward, but a 6ft6inch guard with Newsome being a 6ft3inch forward if I have my stats correct. As you seem to know the team better than I, I have never seen them play, just read the stats, what is the story with Logan Bryant? Beginning of season he had good stats!!! GO SHELBY VALLEy!!

Don'T care who SV starts if they play Elliot Co. really don't think the way they"ve played lately it matters Elliot wins this game easily.

I'm betting on Elliott to win it.

They didn't miss in the first half either we jumped out to a 20-6 lead and never looked back on your home court so I can't wait to play on a netural site. lol

thats true they did shoot really well i will give u that but sc has came alive and playing the best ball of the season so we will see.

looks like it could be a all mountian final this yr.

If they both make the all "A", and both advance the Valley/Elliott matchup will be a dandy and well worth the price of admission! However, the winner of this matchup will be faced with an equally hard game in the Title game. I look for the Valley/Elliott winner to finish 2nd, my honest opinion.

Sheldon Clark should beat P-Burg. Most people forget that SC is a Sr dominated team. It was no surprise that they beat us. They have like 7
or 8 seniors on the team. They should be winning.
#15
I sorry but Sheldon Clark will not beat Prestonsburg. It was no contest at Sheldon Clark so I can't see you guys beating Prestonsburg. Prestonsburg will probably beat you worse then they did at Sheldon Clark.

your so right. I mean come on now, who in the world can beat the all might elliot co. herd they put a 20 point win over the Lakers, so might as well give up right now!!

That's pretty much the same attitude I hear all the Valley fans having for the 15th. Wink

I'm not sure why you take issue with my last couple statements. You would disagree that Elliott is the favorite to win the thing? They are rated #1 in the state right now, after all. And I wasn't saying no one else could win, just that Elliott is the favorite. Which they are.

And my statement about Elisha is true too. Valley needs everyone on the team, especially Elisha, fully healthy if they expect to compete with Elliott. If Elisha is back to his usual self, SV should keep it close and have a chance to win. If he isn't, they have no chance. Hopefully the Pike Central game is enough to assume that he is almost fully healed now.

valley wins it

Anyone know who the favorite would be to win the 4th Region All "A"? Just wondered because that is who the 14th region plays. Thanks for the info.
#21
How is Shelby Valley even eligible to play in the All "A"? No way they are single A in any sport. The ALL A used to mean something when it was actually for the small schools.

Touchstone Energy counts enrollment from grades 10-12. The KHSAA counts grades 9-12. That is how some schools can be 2A in one sport but still be invited to the All A in basketball. But I also think if the enrollment figures for schools like Shelby Valley was compared to schools like Pikeville and Betsy Layne, I think you would be surprised.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

If valley can get their big men on the boards, I see Valley by 10.:flame:

Who have you been watching? Get off the SV fan stuff. They are not even in the same class as EC. SV isn't even ranked in the top 25. EC is #1. EC beat the #8 team in the state and slept the whole first half. I was there.

You are mistaken about the rankings. SV is ranked in the top 20 in pretty much any poll you look at... other than the AP. That being said, I agree that Elliott is the better team.

Big Hog,

Just when I almost agree with you, you had to add that last sentence.

Take it back, ha ha.

Any links on that? A BGR competitor has EC at 5 -- SV at 33 for one ranking.

I think he is referring to the Courier Journal and Lexington Herald leader ratings.

Courier Journal has Shelby Valley ranked at #12 as of Monday.
http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs...=middlecol

The Herald Leader had Shelby Valley ranked #14 as of Monday.

well i see valley wining if they and elliot were to meet. id say alot of there players have been wanting to play elliot sice they were cheated at rupp 2 years ago. does any one remember that. i think elliot shot either 20 30 or 40 more freethrows than valley. it was up there. and i think elliot won by sixteen and made a good percetage of those freethrows.
