low scoring game.

I don't have any stats yet but it was an AWESOME game. Valley only pulled away in the last minute. It was tied 33-33 and then Valley went on a run, ending it 41-34. It was close the entire game really.

It wasn't an awesome game if you're a Valley fan, but Valley did pull out the win.

From an East Ridge perspective, for Valley to be the 2nd best team in the region in pre-seasons polls, everyone expected us to be down by 15-20+ points. The predicition thread on here even says so, but we surprised everyone. I knew our girls could hang tough and if there had been a couple more fouls called and a couple of smarter plays, we would have won that game. I saw what I needed to see from our girls this season and if we are able to come that close to the Lady Cats, we can hang with anyone on our schedule, anyone in this region WITHOUT being ranked even in the top 10. Most underrated program this season? Perhaps...

The Lady Warriors should be proud of themselves, despite the loss. They have improved leaps and bounds since last season and did it without one of their "old" starting five. For this they should be commended, they have really picked up their game.

ER does have a good team, But our girls had a horrible game. Maybe because of ER defense, but mostly mental mistakes. To many missed opportunities. To many silly fouls.

Missed too many wide open shots?

Maybe Valley wasn't completely clicking but you can't discredit another team because of that.

I never discredited ER, I'm saying that we missed passes to the post that should have been made sooner and some that was never attempted. We ended up taking a lower percentage shot and we'll learn from this game. It was an eye opener.

East Ridge missed alot of opportunities and also had mental mistakes. I guess this comes from both teams wanting the win so bad. Both teams will be ready come March.
Can't wait to see the game Saturday when Valley play Phelps.

Valley did miss to many open shots, shot about as poorly as i have seen as a team.

ER has improved very much so,and spears is doing a very good job with them.
Valley played well on the defensive end of the ball is what won this game for them.

Both teams will get better with ER winning some games over stronger teams, valley should take this win with pride and work harder to improve as a team.

Also i haven't read were anyone has discredited ER,they played well but after watching all of Valley's game so far this season, they didn't shoot well against sheldon clark and it fell over to the ER game as well.Good luck to both teams the rest of their season.

I not sure but i don't think mini k scored. Her shots will start to fall in,it's just not there right now.Her injury has gotten her behind but when she gets it going Valley will be much improved on the shooting end of the court.

Shelby Valley was 17-53 from the field which was 32.1%. That is the worst they have shot in a long time. 40% from the FT line. 15 turnovers... The difference in the games was SV kept making stupid silly fouls and they could never get in a groove. They played terrible.

Mini did not score. She was 0 for 8. She had 6 open three point shots. She had to sit out due to injury. With a little practice time she will be back. She alone can be a difference maker in a game.

That being said you cannot take anything away from ER. They played very hard. This team is much improved and if they do not loose confidence, by the end of the year they will make some noise. Good luck to both teams.
