Johnson Central 50 Paintsville 6
#1
Congrats to the Eagles...
#2
Nice win once again.
#3
How many TDs did Blume have?
#4
No suprise here.

I heard Blume had over 200 yards rushing at the half, not sure how many he ended up with.
#5
Man, I knew Central would win, but not like this, WOW. Someone post some stats.
#6
I knew JC would win but i didnt think it would get this bad, did Matney run up the score?
#7
Football probably has some stats .. He done the updates..
#8
Blume finished with 353 rushing yards and JC held Pville to only 88 total yards.
#9
Way to go Eagles!

Congrats to the Golden Eagles. I can't wait until I get to witness this team and Mr. Ron Blume first hand when they visit my Tomcats in a few weeks. The game could quite easily be the determining factor for the district championship.

Massacre. Congrats to the Eagles. Blume ran well tonight, no suprise there. The JC d-line played extremely well along with the DE/OLB giving pressure from the edge. Had Pugh running for his life most of the night. Thought Paintsville's defense played decently well until the second half. Blume got most of his yards between the tackles, yeah he got 2-3 yards a carry in the middle and went up the gut quite a bit but most of his big gains were off tackle, or quick pitch. Congrats to the Eagles on a well played game overall and Good Luck in a few weeks at Ashland. Was glad to see sportsmanship on both behalves and no one leave the game with a serious injury.

Paintsville plays their 1st real team and got spanked???
#13
why does johnson central leave blume and the gang in all game? just curious...does matney not have any younger players he needs to give some experience to....what would he do if hes up 30 or 40 and loses blume to injury, how could he justify him being in there....this is just how it seems to me after listening to the lawrence game and tonight...

Congrats to JC and still welcome to the district and can not wait to watch the ashland and JC game down the road. Should be some excitment and good game to JC.
#15
TC I'm waiting for that game myself. It should really be a good one.
#16
I figured JC would beat the Tigers thoroughly, but didn't expect them to take them behind the woodshed in such a manner as this...what a tough way for P-ville to suffer their firs defeat.

My predictions on JC in their first time view of a new district is go undefted to ashlands house with the tomcats goin undefeted to. District play tonite for the cats but good luck to JC from this point on forward. :welcome:

Congrats to the Eagles.

Confusedalute: JC played a their best game of the season last night both on offense and defense. The defense kept pressure on the qb all night and both O-line and D-line controled the line of scrimmage. The secondary played great just gave up 1 big play at the end of the 1st half.
The place was packed, people lined up around the track. WYMT said there was 7,000 there watching the game.
GREAT GAME EAGLES

Congratulations to Johnson Central.
Quite a showing.
#22
i played football with about half of their team.
#23
congrats central....i talked to some paintsville players last night at the pburg game and they said central ran maybe 3 or 4 plays the whole game alot of sweep plays and quick pitches....
#24
Congrats JC. I was totally wrong on my prediction.
#25
The JCHS line dominated all night. No offense to Blume, but my 90 year old grandmother could have gained 200 yards with the holes the line made.

Congrats to JCHS. Very good defensive job. The D is getting very good. They have allowed 33 points over the last 3 games. They held Boyd to 27 pts. They shut out Law. Co., and held PHS to 6. If the D continues to get better, they might make it to the semis. Sorry, JCHS, I don't see you surviving Covington Catholic or Highlands.

Nice win for the Eagles. Coulda been worse then what the score showed at the end of the game. I want to take the time to say that the linemen for the Eagles are working thier butts off, and if it werent for them that Ron Wouldnt have the games that he is having. Good job hogs, you all never get any credit. And as for Blume, Boy keep running hard and keep running over people. Cant wait to get you down here and let you watch a real game..lol....Good luck in the rest of the season Eagles.
#27
Central has a great o-line...in my opinion i'd say that they have one of the best, if not the best line in the mountains
#28
You can credit, one of the best line play to one of the best line coaches around. Tony Burchett's schemes are brilliant and simple enough for high school kids to understand. I'm suprised he's not coaching at the college level. See the correlation, Matney and Blume get all the publicity but it's actually this man that needs more credit.

I was told JCHS has the top 6 of 8 lineman back next year. Looks like there will be another 1500+++ yard rusher next year as well.

Think you got some wrong information. JC looses 3 of their 5 starting O-lineman. And also lose a d-lineman, in Flinchum.
