Agreed, I think it will be the same as last year but the lady cavs will win it this year

I think Perry Central will be very good with new Coach Kim Campbell who played at Pikeville College. They have back their entire team except for Feltner and Long. Whitney Back can lead the team to a Regional Title by herself. She is a machine. Look for Danny Combs and Courtney Patrick to hit about 10 homeruns each this season and look for Bill Back to get ejected about 10 times as well for fighting with the umpires.

True. No pitching, no winning. All you have to do is throw strikes. These girls and coaches kill me these days. If you have a good enough infield and a pretty good outfield then you just got throw strikes. Of course you got to have pretty good speed, but strikes equals outs. Even if they get hits, you just have to make plays. All these coaches try to get girls to throw harder then they're capable, leading to wild pitches. And the curve balls and stuff...I mean if you can do it...Great, but if not don't even try it! Just throw strikes and let your teammates help out.

Throwing strikes only works in Eastern Kentucky (15th, and 14th regions). If you play a good fast pitch softball team then you have to have a few pitches. It keeps the good hitters off balance.

I think it's gonna end up being between Jenkins and Estill again this year. And like usual, if Estill plays like they can then they'll win it again.
12-17-2008, 01:22 PM
i think that spencer moore form breathitt county will be by far the best player in the 14th region and maybe even in the state!!!!!
12-17-2008, 02:29 PM
Yeah I agree...the more pitches you have, the better off you are. All I was saying is that I hate to see girls try to throw that stuff when they clearly can't! Just throw a strike, instead of walking 15 batters! That's why Mountain teams usually don't fair well at state...well besides North Laurel and a few others. Jenkins wil choke. I mean they are good, but they can't get it done. I hope they do...but I'm just being realistic!

Who is Spencer Moore??
Jackson City should have a pretty good team this year.
I don't know how far they'll make it.
But they should be alright.

I think Estill will be the team to beat but could get a push from Powell depending on PC pitching should have much improved ofense and defense also Jenkins And Letcher Central Perry and ? with Breathitt and Jackson City or Knott but everyone has to get by the engineers they have 3 in a row

This year the 14th is up for grabs, I think that it will come down between Estill and Jenkins but i really cant tell you who is gonna win. (the season hasnt started yet so it all depends on who wants it more) IMO i think that Powell will have a hard time if they dont get the pitching together and i dont really see any other team that could beat Estill or Jenkins.
But it is still way to early to say who is the best, but i, myself, am very curious to see who Estill and Powell will have as their starting pitchers...

Adiah Cook will get the job done for the cougars this season.......

I have to say that C.Johnson will go yard at almost every at bat if not every at bat.
01-06-2009, 07:21 PM
Jenkins will set the pace in the 14th.
However, there is some good young pitching on PCC & Leslie...PCC-Whitney Back & Leslie-India Barger...but neither will have enough to top Jenkins...
Leslie & PCC will be teams to watch in the future...
Estill is usually pretty strong as well...but I really don't know who all they have coming back this year...

Perry got a new girl from Riverdale High in Nashville that was Riverdales #3 girl. This girl will probably be untouchable in the 14th region. Kim Jennings is her name I believe. She is 6'1 and a lefty. Good luck little Jenkins.

to me the cougars will have a hard time this year. With Jenkins returning a lot of players from last years regional runner up. This is really the only sport that has been disapointing since Letcher County Central started 4 years ago.
