Corbin-6 Perry-0

We just didn't show up... Defense whiffed on balls and they had numerous 1v1 with the goalie.... I hate to see the season end like this but i am proud of my team. 4th straight district tile and region runner up. Good job Dores.

Corbin looked like a poised team and well-coached. Nice to watch their strategies, good luck at state. Btw any news about the all-region team or all conference?

It was a great season and they just didn't show up[ to play at all.
Now I hate to stoop to some peoples level but this was one of the worst officiated games I have ever seen. And I'm not saying this because Perry lost. But it seemed like everytime that a Corbin player hit the ground the whistle was blown. Jacob Watts got two yellows on two very questionable calls and got sent off, the second of which was down right RIDICULOUS. I hope that someone recorded the game and sent it into KHSAA. There seriously needs to be something done about this. This official seemed to take the complete physical part of the game away.

There was 35 fouls called in the game. Perry had 33 and corbin had 2.

Corbin jumped out to a 3-0 start in the first 10 minutes on a real nice cross and one touch for the first goal, a pretty header off of a corner and the third off of a loose ball that did not get cleared. This really put Perry Central in serious trouble and they seemed to get frustrated and got away from playing their game.

Corbin's tough schedule seems to be paying off as they have been in many tight games against good teams and have learned from it. I'm sure it would be very beneficial to Perry Central to go out and play some different teams from other areas, although I realize that due to geographic location that is easier said than done. Perry Central has some very talented players whose overall game would improve from playing some of these better teams.

Congratulations to the Redhounds and Perry Central on great seasons.

Very true, they played Louisville Doss this year and tied but just that team isn't going to do it. I believe they need to play in some of these big tournaments.
#7
we should play in those big out of state tournaments, now that would be nice.

or go to some major camps

Does Perry Central go to any team camp? Corbin has gone to Centre and to Cumberlands.

No they dont.. The most true soccer these kids are exposed to are when some of us former players who have went on to play college then come back to teach, such as Ben Napier, Josh Ray, Andrew Lunsford and Zach Hall...

Anthony Hall and Anthony Brashear went to a University of Louisville camp this summer and it seemed it paid off good after, hall was maybe still is ranked on khsaa in assist, and brashear about got on there.

Very hard fought game, without a doubt officiating played a major role, and personally I think it may have cost Perry the game. As did 3 or 4 years ago.

Also they started slow and couldnt get it goin thats why they got beat if they would have started early not doubt they would have won!
#14
the refs let that game get too rough and it was definantly one sided

It wouldn't have been a no doubter but it definitely would have gave them a better chance.

thats a big statement to say "they would have" when they were beat 6-0 i dont care who you are if you get beat 6-0 even if you start out slow the other team is just simply the better team IMO.

Either way it was just a horrible game.

could have it been going into the game overconfident and then playing flat?

Playing flat DEFINITELY. Overconfident very doubtful because Perry knew they were underdogs, problem was they played like they were.

Shots went into the net early for Corbin in this game and really put the pressure on Perry Central, then I thought they got away from playing soccer for periods of time due to frustration. If those shots don't go in that early and often in the game, it is probably a 2-1 or 3-2 type of game. Last night may have turned out differently if we don't rush those opportunities early in the game and take a 1-0 or 2-0 lead and force Boyle Co. out of their game. Boyle plays a good brand of soccer, which made it a fun game to watch.

by the way some of their peers were on here i could see them being a little cocky and over confident going into the game but hey thats JMO.

Well I guess when I say overconfident I mean the unexperienced guys that havn't really experienced what a game like this means and the mindset you have to be in going into it. The veteran guys that knew what it was like were not overconfident.
