Looks like Harlan County isn't.

Congrats to Breathitt!

Knew This Was Gonna Happen...harlan Co. Hasn't Played A Good Team All Year
09-27-2008, 12:08 AM
Breathitt dominated. Harlan County couldnt get anything going and Fugatte could get everything going and the Breathitt QB was poised.Period. I think the Breathitt County Line dominated both sides of the ball. Too many almost got him's. Harlan County has a player with a bad attitude and disrespectful too. Many players on the sidelines talking to fans like they were in their own living room, backs to the game, dont have a clue of whats going on in the game, and this includes the player with the bad attitude. I would've bet that Breathitt wouldnt have ran the ball successfully against the Bears. Fugatte did and did it well. The Bears didnt look like the Bears and got whooped.Period. The Bears have got to get to work. Hats off to the Bobcats.

I think the Bears will learn from this and will rebound. Again, they need to learn from it and get to work. They didn't seem focused tonite and they didn't look like the Bears. GO BEARS!!!!
09-27-2008, 12:40 AM
I'm just disgusted.

09-27-2008, 12:47 AM
Well Harlan County now knows what it takes to be on the same level as the elite mountain powerhouses..... ALOT...
09-27-2008, 12:57 AM
Wow...i can't believe i fell for the Harlan County hype. Lick your wounds Black Bear Nation. Your time will come.
09-27-2008, 01:20 AM
Next week we play "open". If they play like they did tonight , "open" could win. Fugate is a really good running back. More than anything, we were just awful tonight.
Back to the ol' drawing board for the Bears. They've got to do a little gut check and pull themselves up and get back to work. It just wasn't the same team that has been playing. Breathitt is a good team. That being said, we were just bad tonight. Time to find out if these kids have some heart.

As I stated..Breathitt would win because Breathitt, struggling or not, is still a mountain power!! Congrats Bobcats!

ne one have fugates stats

They're good whatever they are. Congrats to Breathitt. They just spanked us good.

I was looking for the team that played tough against Letcher Central. I don't know where that team went. I believe they decided to hibernate early. With all of the excitement the team didn't seem real focused. They didn't play hard and gave up on a lot plays when they might could have made a tackle. Breathitt County brought us down to earth. Still we are only 5 games old if that makes sense and we still have a winning record 3-2 not to shabby! We will now see who are true followers of Black Bear Nation. Don't forget we have a good Coach who will most definitely teach these boys something from this debacle. They have two weeks to get straitened out and I can guarantee Larkey will have them back to form when we travel to Powell County. Let's not get too down on our boys they have gave us 4 weeks of unbelievable football so far.
09-27-2008, 02:09 AM
I knew Breathitt would come out on top in this one. Congrats Bobcats!!!
09-27-2008, 02:23 AM
WOW, I sure didn't see this coming. I picked the bears to win this one and boy was I wrong. That's what I get for thinking Coach Holcomb was in trouble this year. Congrats to Breathitt and Bears keep your head's up, this is the sort of thing that we went through over here in Letcher Co. a few years ago. Remember a real team doesn't got to excited when things are going their way and never get down when things aren't. Maybe this is what Breathitt and Harlan Co. needed at this point of the season. Both teams will learn from this game and both will be better in the long run because of it.

Don't know what happened to the Bears tonight. It just didn't seem like the same team out there. The fans weren't doing so hot either!!!! Most of them any way. But I'm still proud of our boys. Don't get discouraged, just get even......lol!!! Hold ur heads up, learn from ur mistakes and go back out there and play some ball !! Congrats to the bobcats u played well tonight.

I thought the Bears would dominate 3A this year. Hard loss but they'll bounce back.
09-27-2008, 09:44 AM
I thought Harlan as well was suppose to be the team to beat in 3A . Aren't they the team that has 3 schools in 1 that is playing a 3A schedule? Or is it someone else?

The problem is that they have not played in any "big" games and did not respond well in a pressure situation. Breathitt has already played in two "big" games this year and came out firing. Harlan has a good team and will improve on this effort. They play Estill next for the 2 seed in the playoffs, which as a 2 seed they will host Wayne County as of now in the first round of the playoffs. Breathitt would host Garrard County as the 1 seed. Somerset would host Estill, and Taylor would host Powell County. Huge game against Estill coming up for Harlan because I think that Wayne Co. is a much easier matchup than Somerset and if Harlan slips up and loses that game, they would have to travel to Somerset to play in the 1st round.

The Black Bear Nation was no where to be found after halftime. Great atmosphere for high school football early on and the Bobcats came together and played as a team and dominated from start to finish. #28 Couldn't be stopped all night.

The Black Bear Nation showed strong and many had been there since around 4 o'clock. Missed opportunity to massively multiply the Nation. I really thought the Bears had a shot to win it. I dont know where the Bears were. The Black Bear Nation is still strong, can't wait to see them play again. Like I said last night, just need to get to work, overcome this, and get back focused. I tried to sleep it off, but it is still there and did happen. Coach Larkey and Staff will get them back on track. The Black Bear Nation is behind them 100%.

Congrats Bobcats, great game.

The winner will host the 1st round game and avoid playing Somerset @ Somerset in the first round...Even though Somerset lost to Taylor County, they are still the best team in the district, just got upset.....

16 carries for 254 yards and it could have been several more.
He busted through the hole for what would have been about a 95 yard score; but in the open field (with nobody around) the ball popped out of his arms.
Hats off to Fugate and the Bobcats.
Coach Larkey and the Black Bears will bounce back.

This is a shocking outcome. HC has plenty of talent i suppose they got severly outcoached.
09-27-2008, 05:35 PM
I really don't think that was it. The boys just didn't get it done. Got behind, hung their heads and it was as nasty as the weather. They've got 2 weeks to get it together. They play Powell on Oct. 10th. Breathitt is a really really good team. We just .....I dunno, it was NOT the team we have been watching. Breathitt was a much better opponent than what they had beaten and they knew this coming in, they just played bad. I felt bad for the coaches. Saw a lot of old habits last night that I thought we'd overcome.
We'll just have to wipe the blood from our mouth and get ready for Powell. I hope they remember this loss and learn from it.
