Nice to see Paintsville & Shelby Valley move into the top 10 of their respected classes but the only thing that really stands out to me is that Estill County isn't getting as much recognition as the deserve.

Valley does not need to be in the top 10 period. How do you lose a game by over 40 points and move up a spot???

by having the team above you lose, or lose more voting points than you.
DeSales was idle and lost 7 points, while Monroe won and went from 32 to 64 points... those 32 new points had to come from somewhere.
What amazes me is an 0-4 team in the top 10.

Paintsville getting a lot of love for beating Phelps, South Floyd, and Allen Central...if they handle Betsy Layne, maybe they can move into the top 5, lol...
Also, looks like #15 Pikeville at #16 Allen Central should be a barn burner.

I think it is really odd that Shelby Valley lost by 41 points and actually moved UP in the rankings!! I know that Belfry is a powerhouse, but I thought you only got credit for staying close to a team like that, not getting blasted...

Shelby Valley may have a decent team this year, but it's difficult to say at this point. They thumped two teams they were expected to thump, and got blasted by the #1 team in class 3A. So not much evidence to judge exactly how good they are.

If they beat Bath County this week, then they will be a little more deserving of some poll votes.
