Johnson Central is #22 in the overall Top 25

Hazard (#5), Pikeville (#7), Paintsville (#14), and Allen Central (#24) all make Class A Top 25.

Corbin (#3), Prestonsburg (#8), and Shelby Valley (#18) all make Class 2A Top 25.

Belfry (#2), Breathitt County (#3), Russell (#4), Sheldon Clark (#9), and Pike Central (#20) all make Class 3A Top 25.

Lawrence County (#24) makes Class 4A Top 25.

Johnson Central (#6), Ashland Blazer (#18), and Letcher Central (#21) all make Class 5A Top 25.

The way Cantrell does his rankings , Johnson Central is ranked above every school in Lexington except LexCatholic and is the 3rd ranked team overall east of and including Lexington. Bell Couny and LexCath are the two above them.

Hey, they're no. 29, thats pretty good for a first year team in the WRONG class! I say give it two weeks and they'll break the top 25!

Isnt HC 5 A playing in 3 A? It should be easy for someone to get confused in that situation!! I dont understand the KHSAA theories for allowing larger schools to stay down in smaller school classifications!! (Mercer County) all over! If I am wrong I will appoligize ahead of time!!

This first year of consolidation we will be finishing out the 2 year contract of Cawood High School which is 3A. Next year we will be in our proper classification which is 5A. Have no idea why the KHSAA done it that way, could care less at this point...

It is just like they did with Merger County a few years ago. It is easier for the KHSAA to schedule this way than trying to slide a new district team into schedules that have already been set. By playing Cawood's schedule, it was just simpler.

You CAN'T put a lot of weight into those rankings. They don't show heart, effort, or ability on there.
