Very surprising score!

Thought that Male would take this one.

Impressive showing for Central, taking down a 6A powerhouse like Male.

Going to very difficult for any of the strong 3A teams from eastern Kentucky (Belfry, Russell) to beat those guys this year.

I think there's a strong chance Central is the #4 team in the state.
#5
Central has built a powerhouse!
#6
I have a hard time admitting that a school like Central is successful...but they are & they're only going to get better.
#7
No team has benefited from the change to the 6 class system more than Central. They were over shadowed in 3A by Lex Cath and Highlands and Cov Cath and Bowling Green and the like.

They have always been atheltic and falling into the new 3A everyone new they would be a force to be reckoned with.

I don't think there is another 3A team in the state that can match them.

I agree... much like Ft. Campbell in 2A this year.

Doesn't look good for the eastern half of 3A.
#11
Central is the real deal. Go ahead and give it to them they are the state 3a champs this year.
#12
thats just going in defeated with a mind set like that, there good, dont get me wrong, but i dont think as good as last year and remember anything can happen, yea i know the lost several games last year, and have alot back, but so did some of the teams they played, and didnt return as much as central, yes they are the team to beat, but dont anyone lay down and give it to them..go belfry, russell,or anyone from the east, belfry 1st of course..

Belfry played with them last year, but the speed of Central was hard for Belfry to match. You take away the INT run back from touchdown right before halftime Belfry may have pulled the game out.

Belfry was a tough team last season, a bit of a fall off this season. They are still strong, but not as strong as in 2007 in my opinion.

I agree with ya there. That was the changing point of the game. Belfry played an excellent game but that one mistake did them in.

On the other hand, congrats to Central on the win over Male.

Possibly not as strong at this point in the season, but far from finished. Believe me when I say that Belfry will be knocking on the door to get to Louisville and whether they can get in may be determined by good teams such as Russell and Breathitt Co.
#17
Belfry would be the same team "Almost" if Coach mickey didn't Tic off the players!!!!
#18
With Blackburn out, I would do this, pair up Webb and whetstone. Open the holes.
#19
what do u mean by that comment?

Blackburn is the man you need to get the job done,,,to go to State,,But someone, A coach we all know Brought it to a screeching halt!!!!

I agree the season is far from over, and all teams should improve. The point I am making is that Central is as strong as they were last season now, and if they improve as the other teams will, they will be very hard to beat. The good thing about the playoffs in the lower divisions is that anyone can slip up and win....Gotta love it.

The way I see it, Mickey has two state championship rings and 6 trips to the finals. That is more than anyone else on this team has. Coaches and players all have different types of relationships. The bottom line is this: if you do not want to play at Belfry, then don't. Choices have been made and they have to be dealt with. Belfry is plenty good enough with the players they have to make another run at a state championship.

BTW, we need to keep this thread on topic.

It's obvious that you have a agenda and this is no place for it.

If a player was injured in the last game of last year, then they had ample time to get ready for this year.

Given that ample time, If that player had any desire to contribute to this team, then he would have done the work necessary to rehab himself properly. And he would have shown up for practice in July in decent shape and ready to go.

If he didn't do that, then the blame doesn't lie with the coaches when they push him a little to get him back up to speed.
