Rose looked good for Powell rushed for over 200 yards. O-LINE HAS GOT TO GET BETTER. Defense only gave up 1 td other was scored on a punt return. Rice never had time to look up without a white jersey in his face. Crowe caught a td, Rose made alot out of nothing most of time. Powell got the win and a W is a W but they should have blowed it open. Congrats to Powell but o-line and defense has to get better for a good year.

I was in attendance for the Powell County-Jackson County game. On the way back home I will have to say I saw what is the most classless act I have ever saw in my life. In front of some gas station in Stanton the players from the Powell County team were standing blocking the road in front of the Jackson County bus holding their arms up and yelling as the bus went by. Bad enough it was the players, they are kids. The classless act is the fact that an assistant coach was their with them facilitating the activity and standing there with them yelling as well. How pathetic are you when you are a grown man and have to yell at a bus full of kids that had just got done playing their hearts out on the football field. That's really being a man and giving the kids someone to look up to. Another oddity that happened during the game was the scoreboard stopped working during the game 1st and 2nd half but someway somehow the brilliant clock keeper had it working perfectly during halftime.

This was the worst officiated game I have ever seen. The refs basically gave Powell Co. 3 touchdowns and the biggest play of the night was the kick return for Jackson Co. It was the kid's 1st career kickoff and you saw what he did with it. He is gonna be a star for the rest of the season.

I would say that Powell has vastly improved, although Powell is on down the road a couple of weeks, it should be a good hard fought game.

Powell had the same clock problems a couple of times last year during basketball season.

Estill County destroyed Pineville who is much better than Jackson County and did what they wanted to against Jackson County in the scrimmage they had with them. I know you all don't want to overlook anyone, but come on, Estill Counties first challenge should be Breathitt County and I don't think it will be a happy ending.

You are right, IF what you said happened, the asst. coach needs fired, the head coach should have better control over his players and the players should be disciplined, the principle needs to address the situation and send an apology to Jackson County. There is not a place in sports for this action. What an embarrassment for those at Powell County who were not involved and have a good win tarnished by this.

To clarify a misunderstanding. the person you referred to as the brilliant clock keeper has been the same man for the past 7 years. he is a 14th region official.The clock was not showing correct on the scoreboard however, the time and score were showing correct on the clock in the booth. The officials on the field were aware of the problem and they were communicating with the time keeper. there were kids out in town celebrating however, they were not yelling at buses and there was no assistant coaches out on the streets. the coaching staff at Powell County has class.
Now the rest of the story.....the fans from Jackson County were using foul language and at one time an official on the field threatened to throw one of them out of the stadium. The official told the coach he was responsible for his fans to get them under control. also if memory recalls a Jackson player also had a penalty for unsportsmanlike like conduct.
Keep the game on the field. The best team won. The buzzer sounded and the record books have recorded the win and loss. move on to next week and to the next opponent.

I Think Powell County is going to be a much better team this year.. Estill had under estimated Powell.... I think it will be a good game.

I agree. There is no way that you all should have scored on that kickoff return. That should not have happened. Also, the score should have been a lot worse.

ok first of all jackson county has one of the biggest and troughest lines in the distict you can put any team up against our line and I garrenty we knock them back and why dont you ask rose if it hurt when 59 laid that hit on him and our kick returner josh cain earned that kick return because powell county cant tackle plus your school has no class I was on that bus when you started flipping us off and yelling you just need to be lucky they didnt let us off that bus
