So... with Pikeville, Hazard and Paintsville being pretty good on both sides of the ball this year, i dont think you can say that we are the weakest district any more
And speaking of district.... i think after tonights performance by Pikeville its safe to say that they're the frontrunner for the district title, which leaves it for Hazard and Paintsville to fight over....... how does every1 think that will turn out?

I wouldn't say Pikeville is a frontrunner, Hazard also beat P-burg and they are undefeated. If these two meet it will be a dandy.

I think Pikeville wil win district.
Paintsville looks strong .. I think they would give Hazard alot of trouble. But who knows what will happen. I just wish SF had thier best team this year instead of last year. The district would of been even more exciting.

It will come down to Hazard and Pikeville. Paintsville will not beat Pikeville on Howard Field.
Hazard barely beat Pburg
Pikevile killed Pburg
So going by that Pikeville is looking good but it should be a great game.

Top to bottom district 8 is still pretty weak. The top three teams are very good, but the class for district 7 top three or even four, counting Williamsburg, and Cumberland is also playing well, imo 6 to 7 teams have a shot at winning the region. I still think the district 8 title goes through Pikeville.

Different teams match up differently with common opponents. PBurg just got down quick last night. After one it was 19-0. Derossett had a bigger play book against Hazard compared to last night. They also started a kid for the first time at QB since Shaffer was hurt, also one of their top players broke his leg. That is my reasoning for Pville blowing out PBurg, hurt players and freshman making his first start at QB. I think that Blitz is a little too confident in their team, look you beat an 0-3 Corbin team that had the majority of its good players quit before your game, and the starting QB was out. You also beat an injury plagued 0-2 PBurg team, nothing to really brag about yet about being totally dominant. You have beat two teams that are traditionally strong, but are down this year and they have an 0-5 record combined. Sounds to me like you all are world beaters, well I'm done on this thread.

PIKEVILLE 33 PBURG 7....NUFF SAID! And for talking a very honest Pburg fan that was at the game Pikeville called off the dogs and ran between the tackles and din't throw the ball once they got a nice lead or it would have been a lot worse.

You dont know that Paintsville wont beat Pikeville, plain and simple.. You got a time machine or something...maybe you do??? Im going to have to start callling you Marty McFly. I wouldnt be surprised at all if Hazard or Paintsville won this district.

I think that was just his prediction 8)

Good one superman, Pikeville has been beat before on Howard Field. New Cath already beat them this season on their turf. It's a long season and injuries can happen at any time. Pburg played with a pretty banged up team last night according to another website, but Pikeville did drill them pretty good. From what I saw, Pburg doesn't have a strong offensive line, their backs played timid from time to time and were afraid to stick their head in there and block someone, their secondary was pretty weak, the play calling was horrible....i could go on and on. Believe me, Paintsville will be in the mix come playoff time.

I don't think that it's so much Pikeville can't be beat on Howard field, as much as he was predicting that Paintsville won't be Pikeville (no matter where it is). And he has a good point with all the hype that the tigers get, I mean wen't they supposed to do something big against the Panthers last year, only to have Pikeville BLOW them out?
Just for the record though, I expect Painstville to beat Pburg by 14+...so I'll go totally against my friend PHS
And Superman, I gotta feeling that were going to have A LOT of good discussions, esp when PHS plays PHS 8)

LOL..you all beat the same team Hazard did and now you all are world beaters. The way PBurg played last night Marty McFly, a team full of grandmothers could've beat them as bad, if not worse than you all did. PBurg played like something my dog left next to his house early this morning.

What is wrong with the Blackacts TBIRD? I was really expecting great things from them this year....do you think they will turn it around?
09-03-2005, 01:38 PM
The Blackcats lost everything last year. Had players hurt, their oline can't block better than a clothes line, their backs may be quick but go down almost always on first contact, their coach played conservitive and not to win last night by only calling 4 plays the entire game, their original QB was out with an injury, a star recieiver broke his leg early in the first. At this point right now it looks like PBurg is laying down and if things don't happen any time soon(this week) no they will not turn it around, and they will finish 5-5 like I said all along. Anyways you all did fine last night, and it makes it easy on your offense when their D can't play coverage and easy on your D when the play calling is almost as predicting as Dukes winning basket against UK on ESPN classics.

They may have lost a lot but they were still in top 5 in most preseson polls. If I were a Blackcat fan though I woudn't be too worried because I still expect you guysto make a big run in the playoffs.

Pre-season polls are placed on reputation not on actual team abillity. Look at Henry Clay probably the top team in 4A and they were on no one's list but now are on everyones list. That's why PBurg was on everyones list, because they are normally pretty good, but not this year.

That has no indication on how the outcome of the Pikeville/Hazard game will be. It doesn't matter at all.
I wouldn't be surprised if Paintsville beats Pikeville this year. IMO, they have the better team.

Good point bb....same opponents doesn't mean anything.
It's got to be battled out on the field every Friday!

Pikeville and Hazard will be a great game and if Paintsville beats Pburg(who I still think is a good team)then they will get my attention. It is hard to get a read on a team guys when they have played Fairview, Jenkins, and Allen Central.

Exactly. I agree 100%. 8)

I dont think that you can say that District 7 is stronger top to bottom then District 8 is. Yes in both you have your 3 front runners but saying Cumberland is stroner then teams in district 8 is not totally true. When Allen Central and Cumberland collided in a scrimmage it was 12-12 until the JV's came in. Then add South Floyd in the mix which could make some noise, they are both about even.
