Greatest team and/or player from your school
#1
Just somethin to make you think a little, who do you feel was your schools best player past or present and the greatest team that your school ever had, I know theres all kinds of room for debate on this so just have fun with it! I will go first i guess:

greatest pirate team of all time- big suprise! 2003 team was awesome, we had several really good teams before them but none had got it done!

greatest player- hmmmm, this one is a little more difficult, it would be easy to go with jones or howard but hey I am old school, and i will go with someone who made it to the big time, Rick Kessner went on to become an all american at UK and played in the NFL for several years. There are several more but Hes my pick, Im open for debate on it BP so let me hear what you guys think 8)

P-burg:

1. 2001 - State runner up
2. 1993 - State runner up

The 2004 team was good too, I think they tied for the best record at
P-burg.

man I know you played ont he 2004 team but you have to admit, 2003 team would of killed the 2004 team....

The 1997 South Floyd Raiders: Nick Compton QB recruited by D1 schools. and RB ketrin mayes.
2004 South Floyd Raiders. Joe Osborneand Wes Hall RBs recieved several scholarship offers from NAIA schools. Joe accepted scholarship from Union. I think Wes turned down his scholarship offers and is currently enrolled at PCC.

Opinions are like well........N/M lol I will stick with my opinion....The team I am talking about had Joey Willis Qb, Mikael Fannin RB, Kevin Jervis, Charlie Johnson, Evan Mcnutt, John Hunt, Adam Dixon, Matt Seter, ETC.....So that team was really the 2002 but we all graduated in 2003.........

If those 2 teams played it would be a good game, both defences would have trouble stopping the other.

For best team, i gotta go with the 87 pikeville team. I remember watching them when i was in elementary school, and they just destroyed people. Some people still say they were the best team in any class in the state that year.

As for best player, the one i remember the most was brent coleman. Maybe its because of his sacrifice in iraq or maybe cuz i knew him and played sports with him and against him since little league, but he was a heck of a football player.
#13
i will have to say 1997 SF team. def had talent and played a tough District schedule that year.

4,983 rush yards
35 fumbles recovered (1st)

 Just pulling your chain there, Mr. I. I have a lot of respect for the Pirates and what they've done. When you said Pburg was the best team you faced the last two seasons, I couldn't resist.

IMO the 1987 Pikeville team is the best team in Eastern Kentucky in the past 20 years regardless of class and the 1988 team is way up there also. I believe Ashland had a very good team in the early 90s that many in Ashland will say was better than the 1987 Pikeville team but I would find it hard to believe. Those stats could have been a lot higher but the starters very rarely played in any games in the 2nd half...they just killed everyone they played all the way up to the state championship game. Their 2nd team that year could have been a top 10 team in Class A IMO.....they had around 65 kids on the roster I believe.

They did play NCC in the 1988 Pike County Bowl and beat the Breds 37-0.....but yes the 1987 Pikeville team would have handled 2005 NCC in the same fashion that they handled Pikeville in the Pike County Bowl this year if not worse....trust me QQ they were that good. Pikeville will never see a team like that again. Coach Howard used to have a clip of Dave Cantrell's Rankings framed in his office at PHS and Pikeville was ranked #1 in the state regardless of class.
