Powell Co field under construction...
#1
Powell Co. is getting a whole new makeover for their field. Heard rumors of at least 13,000 spent on it. A new water system, leveled out with bermuda grass will be the upgrade. Mike Whitaker must really be pulling his way in Powell Co.

Sounds like he has things going in the right direction. Their field was in dire need of improvement.

It's looking good....Shoot, It don't have a blade of grass and yet it is already better looking than it was last year. Let's play some football now!

Congrats on your field Powell. I am more than certain Coach Whitaker will get them on track to becoming a legitamate team in the next few years....

I'm thinking Coach Whitaker will do some good. He will have some contenders in the next few years.

It didn't have any last year. LOL Had plenty of holes in it though. Good for you all and best of luck this year.

Whitaker has the full support and backing of the admin. and the community.
New weight equiptment, new field and alot more kids out. No where to go but up for the Powell football program.

The administration has their hands full with the KHSAA. Powell has Walton-Verona and Harlan scheduled for the same day, check out khsaa.org. According to KHSAA rules, Powell will have to forfeit Harlan if they don't play them and be stuck with 9 games which will stick Harlan with 9 games and try to avoid a buy out by the other team. The KHSAA is handling the premature void contract sent by "Cawood". Don't think I would want to get too involved w/ the KHSAA, they will make you do what they want you too. I know for fact they are already working on it, coming from Harlan. Anyway, why not play Harlan, rather play them than the Bobcats! They may be 5/6 A, but they are not going to be a MERCER CO. Also, one other thing Powell needs to get is "ONE HEART BEAT"! They have to learn to be a TEAM and a family, regardless of jealousy within players and parents. You are only as good as your weakest player!

let's not embarass our boys again this year by winning every game before we start. we do this ever year and get the same result. stop puttin pressure on them.

That is a good idea! There are some fine young men on the team and they do not need any stress added to them!

This thread was about the construction of the new football field at Powell county NIECE. But you like to get way off topic as usual and give your opinions on the KHSAA and your so-called connections from Harlan as you say. Were talking about Powell's new football field in which alot of people have put alot of time and effort into to give these kids something nice. All my thread stated was the Powell football program has no where to go but up and the support is there for coach Whitaker and you say that's added pressure.???? How would you know what the KHSAA is handling???
you need to just LET IT GO............. Be happy the kids are getting something nice and stop worrying about the rest. It's obvious you wanted to voice your opinion on how you think the KHSAA should hanle things but you don't work for the KHSAA.

It is a shame to see the kids not get a chance to compete for a playoff spot because you don't want to play a consolidated school. As far as the rest, I will NOT stoop to your level.
