I heard that team is playing a hard schedule to prepare them for next season. I heard they picked up 3 games for next season that I am excited about watching. A Green County team which will be the first game of the season i think, and they picked up the new harlan county central team, and the # 9 rank team in the state of west virgina so im excited to see how the team stacks up.

Do you have a list of the teams?

I also heard we only have THREE HOME GAMES this year!!! That is kind of sad for our seniors but I guess if it makes us a better team to travel and play better teams, then gas up the bus...here comes Hazard!!
Go Bulldogs!!
Go Bulldogs!!

Where in the world is Green County? Never heard of it.

04-21-2008, 02:19 PM
Maybe Greenup County??? Now that gas prices are at an all time high, great year for all these away games!
04-21-2008, 04:29 PM
Green Co., near campbellsville--they were undefeated last year from what ive heard.
04-21-2008, 09:54 PM
Green County was 11 and 1 for the season as Metcalfe County beat them in the playoff's.
04-21-2008, 10:01 PM

04-21-2008, 10:49 PM

They are usually an average team and this year will be no different IMO. It is not a real big pick up as far as it being a hard game, Green County is not very good against the pass. I work at WGRK and cover all their sports.

so no senior leadership thats going to be tuff to fill in. I know Hazard will have plenty of that next year and i believe they are going to win 1A next year.

I am happy to report that thanks to diligent fund raising and generous benefactors, Hazard will begin the demolition of their grass field in preparation for insillation of a new artificial turf field the day after school is closed for the year! This process will also include resurfacing of the track, something that has been needed for several years.
The hard work of our coaches and players has, in turn, helped an already respected program rise up the ladder of success, and helped speed this process along. They are certainly a much deserving group and I congratulate them for their accomplishments.
We in the community are already looking foward to football season and we all plan to be on the bandwagon heading to the Louisville carpet on December

This is great news!!!! I honestly believe that our football players and coaches have helped to bring this about by showing everyone that the Dawgs are a team to be reckoned with. This is a nice reward for that undefeated season they had. GOOOOO DAWGS!!!!!!!

Yes we have 4 home games not counting playoffs....and I believe that the turf thing is just a rumor so I wouldnt get my hopes up. I was told by a VERY reliable source today that the school administration (central office) for some reason decided to pull their funding for the turf field and deemed it an "unneccessary waste of money". So i very seriously doubt we will have a new field for my senior season. Ive been told possibly next year....maybe.

anybody have ne updates on the turf lemme kno...but im not gettin my hopes up...

Unless it happened last night, the field is still a go. They have already sprayed the field to kill the old grass and it is slowly turning yellow/orange according to one of the team member's fathers. Surely they wouldn't kill the grass (after what it took to get that field planted with that grass used on professional football fields) if they didn't intend to pursue this project! I guess only tme will tell, but school is out next week and they are supposed to start taking up the remains of the grass the day after school is out!

Yeah I agree...and I had thought the same thing and agreed with you. But the grass is growing back and is pretty green up there. Lucas Campbell was telling me it wasnt happening and Steve is the one heavily involved with it, and coach was saying they didnt know if it would happen or not. I PRAY it does...but i mean if it doesnt then we'll just whoop everybody on our bermuda grass lol

I was at the field today and the grass looked green to me.

So can you tell me the players and positions Green County is losing?

I thought this was supposed to be a hard schedule? There are only three teams that could be considered good on this schedule and one of them is an unknown quantity to me right now. Johnson Central will be good and LCA will be good. The team from Grayson Co. nobody probably knows about. The rest of the schedule is pretty much doody.

They did lose two important starters, but I have heard they are returning most of their team from last season. Who knows.....I guess we will find out the 30th.
