If it was broke you wouldn't question. It may be a fracture because it's swollen on one side and bruised on the other. Either way you need to get a boot.

where could I go about getting a boot? I have no insurance or I would already have this fixed.

Hmm, sounds like you need some universal health care.

In situations like these, I'm going to have to say just go to the doctor. Getting the opinions of a few people online is in no way a good form of diagnosis.

What if it is broken? Now, what if you wrap it and the broken bone grows back wrong, or leaves you with permanent damage...all because you didn't want to go to the doctor.

It's your body, but if you want to be sure what's wrong and be sure to get the proper care you need to go somewhere. Try a free clinic or something.

But wrapping it in an Ace bandage or using someone's old air-cast boot isn't necessarily going to solve your problem, or even make it better for that matter.

Well it could be just sprained. Most of the time a sprain is worse then a break.

Go to the doctor or emergency room...tell them up front you don't have insurance.

Like the last poster said go to the ER and you can make payments to them. If its broke you don't want to wait. Also if it is broke you probaby couldn't put it on the ground. You can put it down if its a sprain. I have sprained both about 8 or 9 times and broken each.

That looks really bad Da Cheem. I have seen a lot of sprained ankles in my 20 years and it looks like a sprain to be honest. Now with that said it looks like a low ankle sprain which is not as bad. However, you really need to go to the ER like Fox said. B/c even if it is just a sprain like some one said that is worse than a break and if you do not get it fixed then it will just give you more problems later on. Please go to the doctor and let us know how it goes.

Well, Seeing as I have no insurance I'm going to call the free clinic in hazard today. And my mom has called a few places that help with this sort of thing to pay for it. But more than likely I'm heading to the ER later today. Even if they don't call back. But I have had to go to the ER for less things and it costed me close to two grand and I really don't have a job and were in a tight spot with money as of right now.

But thanks for all the advice guys, I'll see what happens and let you all know how it goes.

I know how a sprained ankle feels, and looks for that matter and I agree that is a pretty bad sprain. I've sprained my right one about 8 times and I'm afraid I will sprain my left one now because I depend on it so much. Theres no worse feeling than a sprained ankle. Hopefully you get the proper care man anf you get 100%.
