Way to go lady cats, you played a great game really enjoyed watching you all play, can't beleive how many 3's you all got, keep up the good work.

I was shocked Belfry came out in a 2-3 zone on BL. They shoot the ball so well from outside and Belfry let them. When those girls start hitting they are tough to handle. Good game BL and good season Belfry. Best of luck to Belfry seniors. I heard on the radio Deskins got her 2000th point tonight.

You would think Stiltner would have learned her lesson in running the zone against Pike Central. However, someone stated on another thread that Betsy Layne lives and dies from the 3s and that concept won it for them.

Betsy Layne definitely played a great game last night. The girls were firing on all cylinders and shot the lights out. If memory serves me correctly, they shot over 60% from the field and were something like 9-14 from behind the arc. They came out to play and proved that they can be a contender for this year's regional title.
As for the Lady Pirates... The team definitely has some internal issues. It seems like there is quiet a bit of animosity amongst the players. On several occassions during the game, I noticed a couple of the players exchanging words and arguing. The ball court is no place for bickering with your teammates.. You may not like them, and may not agree with some of the choices they make, but that stuff needs to be kept off the court. Another downfall was the laxidasical defense played all night long. I lost count of how many times the Lady Pirates just stood back and watched as a Betsy Layne player blew right by them to the bucket. It was absolutely amazing. There was no teamwork and no heart from this Lady Pirate team in last night's game.
Despite the loss, congratulations are in order for Shae Deskins for scoring her 2000th point plus. That is a great accomplishment.
