I am proud to see 3 players from the Eastern Kentucky area in the top 5 in scoring in the state. It is about time our mountain boys start showing everyone how we play ball around here. Clark Stepp (JBS) at #3 with 25.5 ppg, Landon Slone (Paintsville) at #4 with 25.4 ppg, and Aaron Crum (Allen Central) at #5 with 25.1 ppg. This is very impressive. Also, Shane Grimm from Paintsville is 5th in FG percentage. Aaron Crum is #1 in the state in 3's with 85, (85/168) and then Paintsville and Allen Central are 3rd and 4th in team scoring in the state. Our boys typically don't get as much recognition as players from the Lexington/Louisville area, so i think all 4 of these players should be very proud of themselves, and everyone in our area should give them the recognition they deserve. Congratulations Stepp, Slone, Crum, and Grimm. Keep it up and represent Eastern Kentucky well!

There are really 4 mountain boys. The one that leads the state in scoring is Jonathan Ferguson, Elliott Co. at 28.8 pts per game. These kids can really fill it up.

Aaron Charles (Lee) is 16th in scoring and 9th in free throw percentage.
Blake Christopher is 8th in free throw percentage.
Clint Stepp (JBS) is 5th in 3 pt percentage.
Tyler Campbell (Lee) and Garrison Collins (JBS) are 12th and 13th in fg %.
Cory Brewer (Powell) and Jared Pelfrey (Lee) are in the top 20 in rebounding.
Lee County has 3 juniors in the above statistical catagories. None of them started varsity last season. (Charles, Pelfrey, Campbell)

Congrats to all the kids mentioned and all the kids that play with these kids that unselfishly distribute the ball and rebound so these kids that are mentioned cant get some recognition. I think the thing to remember is that behind every kid that is doing well is some kids who are contributing to that and dont get the glory...

Amen, you have to have a good "team" not just individuals.
