Yourwelcome.

I was interrupted while I was listening, but Samuel Keathly lead Betsy Layne with 9 points.

Like I said in the updates, when Elisha scores over 10 in the first half, the other team is going to have some trouble, he doesn't have to be the scoring threat on this team, but he is one.
#9
Seems like Valley is coming out of that little slump. Really good win for Valley.
#10
Looks like to me that BL was better without Newman.....Congrats Valley....
#11
and everyone though Shelby Valley would get beat...HAHA

Agree 100%. He has broken up the chemistry they were building on the floor.

I wouldn't say that. the kid has only had a weeks practice. In due time BL will be better. They need him. Without him they would have been lucky to make the regional. The truth is the truth. Watch and see. come tourney time BL will be stronger than they are now.

Congrats Valley

I believe there was too much hype put on this game for Betsy Layne. Sure they had, Newman and Lafferty back; and the addition of Adam Slone, but all three players haven't played in a long time. It will take more than just warmups for these three guys to work the rust off from their games. Congrats to Valley.

Congrats to Valley! BL will do better as the season goes, but they aren't in the same league as Valley or Paintsville this year. That is what I have said all along. (Not saying that Valley and Paintsville can't be off on a given night and have a close game, but they are by far much better than the other teams in the 15th this year).

Can't wait to see SV and Paintsville in the finals. I just hope that both play their best so we can see a great ballgame.

Actually only a select few picked BL in this one.

Thanks for the stats. I'd like to SV shoot FT's a bit better in the upcoming game and cut down on the turnovers as well.

Elisha had 5 turnovers, and that is very unusual for him. Usually 2 is a large number for him. I remember a stretch last season where he only had like 5 turnovers in 10 games.

Congrats Valley!
#22
wow, what was really suprising in looking at the box score was the score at the end of the 1st quarter, SV 20 - BL 2, how cold do you have to be from the field to only net one basket? I know Valley's Defense is tough pressure, but playing them recenty, they knew what to expect

Sometimes people pick with their heart instead of picking with their head. SV has been at the top of the 15th for awhile and it is going to take a good team to knock them off that...I noticed that they had 4 kids in double figures and Ashley had 8..That looks good when a team distributes the ball well....

)

First off....what chemistry did BL have on the floor?....done that I could see....the only thing NEWMAN will do is HELP this team....there is no way he could hurt them....i mean haven't you seen them play?......NO ONE has any control over this BL basketball team.....it appears to me that they do what the want, act any way they want on the court and say what ever they want on the floor and nothing seems to be done about it...the only reason SV didn't beat them this bad the first time was simply because SV had a bad night!! WAKE UP people and face it NEWMAN is a good basketball player and if he wasn't he wouldn't have been ranked in the TOP 10 in the CATPAWS book....GET OVER IT..

BL has no ball movement and no one to lead this team and until they have someone to step and do so they will never be any better!!!!!!
#25
this kind of win may be what valley needed....good job cats
#26
No big surprise! I thought SV would handle BL pretty easy.
#27
I thought SV would score more points than this. It seemed like they had problems finishing baskets at the end of their transition game. With their team speed they should be scoring more out of transition. 64 points is not very good against a team like BL. Just my opinion!
#28
Maybe Newman didn't help BL at all coming back
#29
Ah, man, I thought getting the big man back was going to all of a sudden make them great, guess I was wrong.
#30
There will be a long time until Newman will be the same as he played last year. He needs a lot more practice and the team has to gel with him before they get any better. Congrats valley on the win and i look forward to watching you play against Pikeville.
