Betsy Layne Bobcats '08
#1
So lets hear it, how do you think the bobcats will do in 08. The have been lifting since December with 25 kids. Whats everyones thoughts???
#2
Well, do they have any returing talent from last year?
#3
They lost there two playmakers in Brandon Blair and Brennan Case, so I think it will be another tough year for the Bobcats...

Good luck Bobcats in 2008!

Brennan Case was the QB, right? If so, he was really good.
#5
I think betsy lane will be down again losing Brennan

Yeah that was him... He carried that team.

Ok. Yea, pretty much. He was a tough player. But, best of luck next year!!

Well, not really good. He was a really good player at that school lol. But, he was a decent player.
#10
After losing what was probably their two best players, I don't see them doing any better than last year.
#11
let talk about next year, the past is the past. They lost seven seniors from last year.
#12
Who did they lose and what positions did they play?
#13
I think BL will struggle but I wish you the best of luck
Loosing Blair and Case will be hard to replace
#14
Brennan Case
Brandon Blair
Bo Hamilton
Heath Tackett
Travis Slone
Doug Hall
Nathan Ross
maybe one or two more
#15
Maybe if you all can find someone to repace Brennan, then you might have a, ehh, an ok season. But if not, I don't see BL doing any good. But keep trying hard!

Well, I think if anyone can fill Coach B's shoes, it is coach Parsons

Spring practice is going great on the hill, the bobcats have had some old familiar faces walking around the field.

Numbers look real good.

They have finalized their schedule also.
I see a big improvement from last year from their record.
#18
Who are some of the new faces for the Bobcats? If any?
#19
First off,
Bryant Tibbs 40 yard time 4.5
Robert Hall looks great on line, will help out a bunch.
Brandon Wilson 6'3 250 Tim and Ted's cousin
Aaron (house) Newsome 6'2 350
Casey Adkins (didnt play last year) 6'2 200

I dont know but the sky seems a more blue these days.

No offense to you but I don't believe that one bit. Thats a very hard time to run, Prestonsburg's Allen Craynon is one of the better runners in the state in track and he only runs a 4.6 40 laser. So I seriously doubt that this kid runs a 4.5, if he does then alot of people would know about it.

yeah, did you time that with a sundial or something?
#22
What is their schedule.
#23
Bryant Tibbs ran a 4.6 during spring practice.

Betsy Layne's Schedule

Burch @ Betsy Layne
Jackson County @ Betsy Layne Bobcat Bowl
Pikeville @ Pikeville
South Floyd @ South Floyd
Allen Central @ Betsy Layne
Powell County @ Betsy Layne
Jenkins @ Betsy Layne
Beth Haven @ Betsy Layne
Phelps @ Betsy Layne
Paintsville @ Paintsville

Not in any particular order.

Looks like a cake schedule (with the exception of P-Ville). You should be able to pull 5 or so wins out of there.

Eh, I'm gonna say, 3 or 4 wins.
#27
If BL has a kid that runs a 4.6 or 4.5 like BLF says they do and has lineman that squats a million and benches a thousand......BL should at least win 5...maybe more.

no, he didnt..

Quit making rude/sarcastic jokes, that are neither funny nor relevant to the topic of discussion.
Anyways, I'll say BL picks up 5 wins on the season with wins over Burch, South Floyd, Powell County, Jenkins and Phelps. JMO. And maybe sneak into the playoffs as a 4 seed.
But GOOD LUCK Bobcats on the 2008 Season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of the numbers that are being posted are a little far fetched. I was serious....if the players are posting numbers like that, then they should be a 500 team. At least. I have coached some great teams and I have rarely had a player that ran a true 4.6 forty.
