Do we gotta choose a winner? Expect great seasons out of both of these squads and could see both at Kroger Field.
There's usually an early season shocker, although would it be really. I picked Ryle in the vote. But I think Cov Cath could pull it out. Would not be surprised by either out come.
Cov Cath 38
Ryle 35

I had Covington Catholic as my #1 overall pick going into the 2025 season in class 4A. The anonymous 4A ranking member put CC as his top pick I see this morning. I think with Harney at QB he is the difference maker and will be hard to stop. Probably a 2025 Mr. Football candidate to keep a eye on IMO. 4A is close though and after mid-season, all the teams will have played similar opponents, and we should get a better idea of how close everyone is.

Covington Catholic coaching staff does a great job. When they are the favorite they utilize their strengths. When they are the underdog they acknowledge the fact and establish a game plan to hinder the opponent. The ability to adjust to different styles of play is impressive. That's how they beat Paducah Tilghman in the 2023 playoffs and Boyle Co last year.
As for this game, I think it will be a great one!! I'll take Ryle again this year but much closer than the 30-14 outcome in 2024.
