Pikeville vs East Ridge scrimmage 8/15
#1
Scrimmage at the Reservation on friday! I got the Warriors in a barn burner of an upset.

#2
What kind of format for this one?
#3
I really don't like that Pikeville plays such weak Scrimmage opponents every Year and then jumps straight into one of the Toughest Regular Season Schedules in the whole State. They need to Scrimmage top notch opponents to prepare themselves for their tough Schedule, not Cupcakes.

Was a little surprised at this one, but I’m sure PHS has their reasons.
#5
Not a lot of teams line up to play Pikeville preseason or regular season.

1. LCC is good and Martin Co isn't terrible.

2. Pikeville opens at CAL, Cabell Midland, Raceland, at Johnson Central, at Belfry. Wouldn't be smart to line up against Trinity and St. X heading into that.

3. What Belichick said.

Can’t believe you messed up and put Raceland on the “tough” list. RAD will never let you live it down ha

So?

The point is that Iron sharpens Iron and you can't shy away from good competition in the Pre Season and then expect to be ready for one of the Hardest Schedules in the State. It will lead to injuries and in the end the Coach is suppose to have them prepared for the Schedule that he put together. Betsy Layne, Martin Co, LCC and East Ridge won't even prepare you for Belfry moreless CAL and the rest of the Gauntlet.

Preaching iron sharpens iron to Pikeville fans is a freaking hoot. Looking forward to your next lecture...but maybe you should run out and win a bunch of championships first lol

Easily the 5th or 6th toughest team on the schedule

Looks like you root for Pikeville...
Schedule is more than brutal enough and the goal is a championship in Nov/Dec...beating CAL in August would be cool but it's not in the big picture and you mention injuries so imagine having 7 tough games in a row instead of 5...

First off I am a Pikeville Fan and Secondly last Season and now this Season may end up being the Two Toughest Schedules in School History. That didn't help come Playoff time when we ran the ball up the middle over and over at Sayre in an embarrassing loss for about 1-2 yards per carry now did it. It also didn't help with the injuries. I Love playing a Super challenging Schedule but it makes no sense to not challenge your team in the Pre Season to prepare them for that level of competition. If you believe thay LCC, East Ridge, Betsy Layne and Martin Co prepared them, then you may want to eat a Snickers or atleast check your Blood Sugar level.

The regular season prepares them for a deep playoff run. Preseason 7 on 7s and scrimmages have cost teams - wait for it - ZERO state championships. "We should have had tougher scrimmages" has been said by.......no coach ever...

If a team isn't prepared in the Off Season and Pre Season and Scrimmages then it will100% cost teams on any level in any sport. Now I believe that they are prepared in Two of the Three and Scrimmaging one of the bottom 20 teams in the State right before you Start the Season playing one of the Top 5 Teams in the State regardless of Classification on the road is gonna prepare them WOW lol.The physicality that they're gonna face next week Friday is gonna be the most intense that they've ever faced in their lives and you think Scrimmaging East Ridge right before thay is gonna help them be prepared and not get hurt is just nuts.

Thanks for the compliment but I'm mid 40's.

I was in Louisville in 1987,1988 and 1989 and watched Pikeville Win its First Three State Championships. Stayed the Executive West with the team and all of the Fans.

It's definitely gonna help East Ridge as long as they don't suffer any injuries, but for Pikeville there's absolutely No benefit in playing this game.

Lol same here! Man that was fun! Favorite games in that period were at Cumberland in '87 and all three Beechwood blowouts.

I wish we'd play Beechwood home and away every year and or Mayfiled. The Beechwood games always were the most competitive games. Wasn't one of the game called do to bad Weather or something. I can't remember, maybe I'm wrong.
