If Pike Central really pushed it this will not happen.

Knuckles had been training with Floyd Central on Sundays, so this has to be a gut punch to Floyd Central as well.

I’m sure they were hoping he’d end up there.

Good luck to the kid!

I’ve also heard another of Pike Central’s key returning playmakers is headed to Betsy Layne.

I hadn’t heard of anybody going out except knuckles. I do know there was a bunch transfer in that will contribute next year.

Coach Hoskins has got to be fired up training a QB that didn’t end up playing for him

Unless there is more to this story. He can live anywhere and play for Pike Central or any other school in the state for that matter, as long as he is enrolled in the school he plays for.

How would/could Pike Central stop this from happening?
I have zero knowledge about the story. Just reading the posts about it.

I didn’t know they changed that rule. I thought if he lived so far from certain district like where he lives in Floyd county didn’t know he could play in West Virginia

Several years ago, Deonte Joplin left Belfry on a Monday or Tuesday and played for Mingo that Friday. The whole attitude has really change with transfers and so called recruiting over the last couple of years. It eventually will mimic what happens in college athletics. Most states already have or are considering NIL guidelines for their high school athletes. Only 12 states in the US have prohibited NIL for HS athletes.
