North Laurel 54 - Breathitt County 53
#1
Was a realy good game.

Sperry and Terry played well, but Davidson dominated.   He's a player!

Good season for the Bobcats

mannnnnn the Bobcats gave it away. They played so hard I was rooting for them. Gotta take care of the ball down the stretch

North Laurel had 2 turnovers, 3 of 5 starters for Breathitt had more than 2 turnovers. That’s the story for this one. Impressed in how Breathitt guarded and kept North off the boards.

Breathitt won the rebound margin by 8 and had 9 second chance points according to the stat report. Great game just a turnover heavy team turned the ball over like they did all year and didn’t make winning plays down the stretch. Davidson had 37 and 9, and was hounded on every touch he’s special!!

More importantly, Valentine officially has a win in rupp arena with maybe one of his worst teams (in the talent department) he’s had. Cap is off.

I hope to be able to say the Corbin Redhounds beat the state champions twice this season.

Throw it away literally but they played with everything in them

This was by far one of the best games of the entire tournament, with 2 of the best talents the whole tournament had to offer. Seen Sperry play a few times over the years, and man he did not disappoint, just unfortunately that he fouled out, I understand you want your best player on their best player down the stretch, but have to question Sperry on Davidson with 4 fouls, then what decided the game was him committing his 5th foul, even tho no one else was stopping Davidson the whole game, I'd have taken my chances by not putting Sperry on him.

Speaking of Davidson, young man is the real deal. I'd heard some great things about him, but he really showed up & showed out on the biggest stage. Have to give him all the credit in the world, he carried the team on his back, scoring 36 of the teams 54 points to get the W, which was their first at the State Tournament.
