JC gets an early season victory at Pikeville. The Panthers have played a really tough schedule to start the season and now are 1-4. The next two games are Ryle and Corbin so it doesn't get much easier for them.
Sophomore Levi Pennington went 6 innings and allowed 3 runs on 5 hits and a walk for JC. He also had 8 strikeouts. Just looking at his stats he pitched 1 inning last year as a freshman so he may be a breakout player for the Golden Eagles. JC also looks like they have a good transfer in Kaden Litteral from Magoffin County. I expect he will start some as a pitcher and is solid at the plate too.

If duty starts this game wouldn’t have been close. If Hall, Duty, and Ryan bring their A game nobody is beating Pikeville in the region tourney.
