If Derrick gets the job, expect some bobcats to jump ship

They have 5 of their top 6 returning. 3 of which play football. 2 of the 3 that play football are seniors. Their families are tied deeply to Bobcat athletics.

I don’t believe they transfer their senior year after going to BL their entire lives.

BL is one good transfer away from being pretty good again next year.

Talked to the administration today.  They are accepting applications and they are currently putting together a 5 member committee.
I was also told that they are 2 coaches that the administration will call and talk to.

1. Jim Hicks
2. Al Holland

Isn’t Eric in administration? I hear it’s back to ER for ER

It was never specified what happened to him at Betsy Layne after they were so happy to have him there, then suddenly he was gone.

What kind of a administration tells John Doe that they're contacting two currently employed coaches about their opening?

The Pike Central AD. Expected that’s why all programs are a mess and under perform on a regular basis. It will never change until the change is made on the top.

Rinse. Repeat.

This is an epedemic in coaching not just PC.

The parents being allowed to run the programs from the outside is killing coaching. Look at the cooper situation.

No chance. He had 8 players quit at BL his last season there. There is zero reason to think anyone would leave a really good team and head to PC for him

Look at all my previous posts. I’m never far off.

Very good source just told me that Jim Hicks will be the coach at Pike Central.

I have also been told he's been offered the job. But honestly don't see him taking it.

When do we expect this hire takes place?
#23
I would expect them to announce after spring break. Hearing 3 names attached to the job.
1. Jim Hicks
2. Al Holland
3. Derrick Newsome

All 3 would be big hires in my opinion. Especially after Ratliff was "forced" to resign. 4 straight district titles, I think you have to make a big hire.

Holland is out not going there but somewhere close is the word. Family plays for him.  Hiring should take place the week of 14th

Care to elaborate on where he is supposedly going?

It'll be interesting to see who will take this job. First time I've heard mention of the names listed above, think we've all heard Big Al's named linked to the Pikeville job, and from what I was told this past weekend, that was a lot closer to happening than people think.
