North Laurel vs South Laurel
#1
No thread? Can the Cards complete the trifecta against North?

North had two nice wins against Corbin and HC.  South looked good, but turnover happy against Pineville on Saturday.

How do the matchups look? Should be a good one.
#2
Let's see... who to root for??? Would I choose a power drill to my anal canal or a hot poker to my eyeball... I guess I'll root for the power drill up my ass.

Yessssss so you are on the SL bandwagon!  Don’t forget you called this final in a different thread. You gonna be there tonight?

North was not a region contender until the last week of february and then has turned into the 96 bulls. They have been amazingly fun to watch. They play to their strengths. Oddly enough they have shot more threes than any other team in the region during the postseason which was not the case for the regular season, so for all of the people who disagree with my threes arguments can eat it.

Kole jervis is on the hottest streak in recent memory for someone nobody thought would be the significant difference maker for the postseason. South having to readjust and give more attention to him rather that rawlings opens up even more options. The worst matchup for mabe in the region is davidson. It’s hard not to say that the hottest team in the 13th pulls it out.

Then I look at the benches. I see the guys in suits. And i realize all that I have said does not matter. Davis over Valentine 10 out of 10 times when the lineups are somewhat even. I know he doesn’t have a great record at the arena but he will stand with his bright red shoes (i hope he brings them out) and pull out the victory.

I'd rather eat my own liver and and wash it down with my bile than root for either of these teams. But, yes, pre-tournament, I said don't be surprised to see a North-South civil war in the final. But since when do you all listen to me??? I'm crazier than a sack full of cats. And I should know. I have several sacks full of cats.

I have always listened to you and believe it or not actually value your opinion. Only 3 or 4 on this site I will say that about. Jump on the SL bandwagon for tonight and I’ll drop off some catnip for your cats lol

See I disagree, I hope every 13th region team has success against everyone but the Bobcats. Even the rivals. I hope whoever wins this game beats the (insert curse word) out of that fraudulent Hazard bunch at Rupp. There is only a few teams ever I would actively cheer against if they are in the 13th and it usually goes with off the field/court antics. You know like postgame fights, viral videos, wife swapping in the stands with the moms. All the good stuff we have had in the past.

Heck I would even cheer for pineville in the right situation. I hoped they won the All-A even after they shot fireworks for beating Barbourville in the All-A regional. I guess the best way to look at this game as a Corbin fan is which one of my rivals do I hate more? Then after tonight you become a mini-fan for the winner going into the sweet 16.

I like Davis better than Val Venis, and I like you, so I'm on the SL bandwagon tonight. Anything for my pussycats...

What’s your opinion on why Hazard is fraudulent? Curious of why you think so?
They have lost to two good teams. They’ve beat some good teams as well. Ashland, Breathitt Co, Green Co, Clinton Co, Madison Central, Perry Central, Harlan Co. Those are come good wins.

To me there is nothing fraudulent with those wins.

In South's favor:

1. Mr. Mabe--- best player in the region on both sides of the ball. One of the best in the state defensively, imo.
2. Jefferson Davis--- best coach in the region, imo, even with his past struggles at the Arena(which I don't think means he's a poorer coach at the Arena).
3. Schedule has been a guantlet late in the season---They are prepared for a run to the Final Four in Lexington.

In North's favor

1. It's hard to beat a team three times(See Corbin)
2. North is playing their best ball of the season at the perfect time.
3. Mr Davidson may be the toughest matchup any team has to face.
4. North proved back in 1865 it has what it takes to win a war.

I picked South to win it pre-tourney and picked them to advance to the Final Four at Rupp. I'm not changing my tune now, even though North has played even better than I expected them too. North has played exceptonal ball at season's end. However, their run end's tonight.  South by at least 8.

I went to the WYMT classic finals and watched a ghost call to end the game and watched them score 29 in the all a. Most of the teams you just listed are now practicing baseball. Two of the teams you just listed would not make it out of any district in the 13th region. You want more?

The only 13th region team that I refuse to root for is........... Knox Central. If the Panthers were playing the Taliban Home School Jihadists, I would root like hell for the Taliban. That's the Allah's honest truth.

Foul is a foul. If the kid maybe had both hands up instead of just the one maybe it wouldn’t have been called because he had the hand up to block the shot and bodies also came together too. Yes they did score 29, but the same team that held hazard to that won the tournament. That game was the worst performance of the year for Hazard. Heck Hazard absolutely battled it out to get there against Green Co, and Clinton Co who are still playing and dang good teams. Every team listed above is solid. But the results of these tournaments are why the games are played instead of penciled in on paper.

Tell me what team in this area that has better wins? And list them.

All premature jocularity aside(did I really say that?) , Good luck to both schools. They've earned it and they are the two that most deserve to be there. They were playing the best ball at the end.
#21
^ I also want to add Hazard isn’t penciled in just yet to play at Rupp. Hard to beat a team 3 times, really hard to beat one 4 times, and now tonight Hazard will have to beat that same team for the 5th time this season which will be extremely difficult.

The 13th has almost the same scenario except it’s the 3rd matchup.

In the 14th, none cause it’s trash. Actually more like the trash outside of a mexican restaurant with the sludge that leaks out.

Green and Clinton are yet to start their region tournaments so they haven’t had a chance to lose yet. You are banking on Ashland making it.

Teams in 13th with better or similar wins and a drastically harder schedule, let me see
North
South
Harlan County
Bell

Perry wasn’t even a top 5 team that I seen play AT BELL COUNTY this year. Breathitt was not a top 20 toughest team on Harlan County’s schedule.

South holds Hazard to under 40. North is a better match for Hazard but has proven bigger “shooter-unfriendly” gyms do not bother them. I have said since the bracket dropped whoever wins the 13th gets at least two games at rupp.

It looks like Cooper in the 9th will be open.

I went to the WYMT classic finals and watched a ghost call to end the game and watched them score 29 in the all a. Most of the teams you just listed are now practicing baseball. Two of the teams you just listed would not make it out of any district in the 13th region. You want more?

Harlan Co has a good win over Lloyd Memorial.
South Laurels best win was against Trinity.
Bell County’s best win is against North Hardin
North Laurels best win is against Jeffersontown.

Those teams schedules are no harder than what Hazard had on theres. The only thing I will give u is the 13th region had several more competitive teams other than 3-4 like the 14th region had.

Green County plays tommorow in the region championship.

Clinton Co won it’s first game of the region.

WRONG!!!!  He's been one of, if not the best,  in the region,  for years.  Some nights just don't work out. Like tonight.
