Bobcats Braydon Hall hits a 3 with just a few seconds left to give BL the win.

It was a GREAT GAME, but controversy took place in the last overtime as 3 stations and the Pburg book keeper had Kaden Allen with 4 fouls, but the official book keeper had Allen with 5 with a few mins remaining. He had a double double and was playing a great game. That should not be happening in games of this magnitude. Period. That’s sad.

Then after the game tempers flared, couldn’t really tell what was happening over the broadcast.

Again, great game. Prestonsburg led 99% of this game I’d say. BL couldn’t buy a 3 the first 3 quarters and Carter Parsons erupted for 17 4th quarter points and it carried throughout the OT periods.

Prestonsburg got a great performance from everyone that played. Graham Shutts played like a veteran this entire tournament. Hit a huge 3 to tie the game toward the end. Allen played one of his best games of the season. Keathley was really good as well. BL defends him about as well as anyone can.

Insane game. I believe Betsy Layne book keeper messed that one up. Allen only had 4 fouls. Then all the junk at the end. There’s never a lack of serious drama when Betsy Layne is involved. Big shot by Hall at the end. My favorite player of the night was Schutts. To be an 8th grader kid showed some serious grit in a hostile environment.

From where I was standing, it sounded like someone from Prestonsburg said “No one wants to hear you!”  The coach replied, “No one wants to hear you either”.  I’m thinking that lady was connected to one of the players- pretty sure you can guess, but I’m not putting names out there just in case.

Players from each team were picking each other up and taping them on the butt and saying you good? Great sportsmanship from the players and terrible that it had to end like this. This was an instant classic game too.

Wow!! One of the best games I have seen all season. The Blackcats really came to play.

It is an absolute shame that a player would “foul out” on the basis of the opposing team’s bookkeeper’s mistake. I know that games go by the home team book, but I hate that for the kid (#5, Allen). There should be a way to double check this information.

Also, I agree that Betsy Layne is always drama. I don’t think it is appropriate that a school hired employee would be so unprofessional as to have a mic for prayer and to instead respond to upset fans—not “coach of the year” behavior in my book.

Schutts really stepped up big time for an 8th grader!! Impressive. As always, Keathley is just a play maker.

Betsy Layne seems to be the best team from the arc in the region. Those guys can light it up when they get hot.

No one is going to want to meet the Bobcats or the Blackcats in the Region.

They screw Kaden Allen with 4 fouls. Bl Again finding a way to win with giving a key player for Pburg an extra foul somehow. Howard might’ve won but him telling a parent “ nobody wants to hear you either “ is so disrespectful and unnecessary just go on with your prayer. BL had the ball 3 or 4 times with a Minute left and finally finished the play. How Pburg leaves Brayden Hall open so many times in all over the OTs is beyond my understanding. I still can’t believe how they screw over Allen that dropped all the momentum for Pburg. Awesome game though!

Glad to see Betsy Laynes Ethan Lance get some recognition. Young man transfer from Floyd Central getting 0 minutes a game and now he’s starting for the district champs of the 58th. Knocked some huge free throws down at the end and rebounded liked a grown man all night.

Agree about Lance. Parsons and Hall made up for their poor shooting first half.
Pburg still had a chance to win after Allen fouling out….
I don’t think the game was overshadowed by the end game antics though…..bad taste maybe, but will still go down as one of the best in 58th history.

Sorry to hurt your feelings the official book was not red.
They had an impartial book keeper. The coach shouldn’t have said stuff to the parent but the parent really didn’t want the BL team to pray.

Idk, but that scorekeeper for BL would have needed help getting out of that gym if that would have been my kid he screwed over then FLIPPED HIM OFF. Screwing him over is one thing, I would have let that slide, but you, as a grown ass man flip him the bird (which there is video proof and the commentators even seen it and brought it up on the live broadcast), one of us would have got an ass whooping.

Great great game. Watched 2nd half and OTs on PRG and enjoyed it very much. Respect to both teams, they can both beat anyone in the regional tournament on a given night.

But, I must be the only one on here that has no problem with someone yelling back at a fan who yells an insult at them.

No big post tonight. I’ve decided that I enjoy being able to post on this forum too much to risk losing that privilege by publicly shaming adults who are in positions of authority over kids and then flip off(!!!!) and screw over those teenagers in the middle of a game so that their school can win a ball game. Maybe tomorrow when I calm down. But I will say this-

Best 58th district basketball game by the players on the floor that I’ve ever seen. Ever. Both teams should be extremely proud of the way they played tonight.

The official book keeper was Russell Kidd, who just had a kid graduate no more than a couple years ago (he sat at the table with him and Red). Betsy Layne book was kept by Red and Kidd was supposed to be official.
They had already given the ball to the free throw shooter then decided that Allen needed his 5th when everyone in the bldg knew he had 4.

The post game started when BL admin and coaches allowed the entire BL team to sprint accross the floor and celebrate and taunt the Pburg student section (right in that corner, its on video)
