Great game, both teams played with the passion it takes to win a region title. The stars showed up bigtime! Maddox Huff hit several big shots and had 30 and Jordan Mabe did the same and had to have around 30 as well. Was great to see the 2 best players in region against each other in a late season classic! HC got up 9 in the 4th but then uncharacteristically missed 6 fts and allowed SL to cut it to 2 with :16.5 left, then Maddox made 2 fts to make the final score 67-63 - Rawlings is tough for SL and they had a couple kids hit some big 3s for them to keep them in the game. HC got solid performances from Napier, Cole, Carter and Cottrell with some really special moments from Mr Cottrell tonight who has missed several games, but seems to be getting his game back in shape with some inspirational hustle and grit…. Hats off to both teams!!! It was well worth the price of admission tonight……..

Crazy statistical game in my opinion. Harlan County out rebounded south laurel. That’s impressive. South hit 8 threes went 8-20. That’s crazy. Harlan County went 4-13, they have went cold from behind the arc in the recent week. 48 free throws in this one. 27-21.

No offense to the Londonites. Tonight proved that the 13th runs through the 52nd. If South can shoot 8 threes and Harlan County only make 4 on top of 10 missed free throws by HC and it’s still a HC win, A game where they meet their averages would be a blowout.
