It’s definitely a facilities upgrade for coach Rice. I’ve been told Bourbon Co has great facilities

I’m a die hard Ram. I bleed orange…but that orange field at Paris was one of the ugliest things I’ve seen in sometime. And for gods sake update the mascot. That being said…it wasn’t a bad facility. I have no idea what bourbon has.

Kirkland Chestnut has been brought in as the DC.
I believe he brought his entire Paris staff with him minus 1 or 2 and I also believe that Chestnut was on staff there as well.
In as much of a "non-hater" way as I possibly can, I've attended a few Paris games over the last 2-3 years and my personal opinion is that the players were never the issue. They had the Jimmies and Joes to beat Raceland and Sayre, but were dominated by those teams. I saw the kids cussing out the coaches on the sidelines and a buddy of mine close to the program said that kids would show up Thursday for practice and play on Fridays.
The bigger the school the more those problems will show.
That said if he brought over his 15-20 top players then Bourbon would be an instant favorite to get to the semifinals game given that they were on par with Rockcastle who has been on par with Bell in that Eastern 3a. That was with a 25 man roster.

LOL to all of this. Going to instantly fix all the woes of a political, underachieving program/ school like BC. Going to instantly be among the best. Going to ... blah blah blah. There is no substitute for hard work, fundamentals, discipline and commitment. Hope for the best but let's see where this all ends up in 5 seasons. Then we can judge. Good luck.

He didn’t impress me at Paris. Really sub par in game management got him his teeth kicked in vs Raceland in ‘24, which apples to apples was a game he should have won. Same issues this year. Complete lack of discipline from the top down.

In that case it could last 3 seasons but 2 is more of a possibility. BC like most county schools should have good kids that will run through a wall for the team and coach but I don't know that they are very talented. So if a bunch of kids are brought in or 'just happen to move in' but they are discipline problems and those kinds of things are visible on the sidelines and in the building then I would expect the parents of the kids at BC to voice (loudly) their displeasure. End of Story. Rinse repeat as it seems to go at BC (and many schools unfortunately). I will add this. They have a very weak district so winning should not be very difficult. That helps alot.

Bourbon has a long way to go to be a serious state contender. Transfers or not. Champion mentality and fortitude isn’t built in a day.

Coach Rice made one hell of a post today about his prior coaching situation.
