Someone found some kryptonite looks like.  North gelled way too early by playing those 100 summer games together and the aau.  Didn’t think the honeymoon would last.  But they are having a really good season regardless.  I look for some other regional teams to start giving them a scare.

North has very little offensive ability once you get beyond Nicholson and Claybrooke(although that is a lot lol). And they have ZERO bench. But you have to match up with the main 2 girls. Nobody in the 13th can match up with them, Corbin has 1 girl that can matchup with Nicholson but not enough. Normally I would say that South doesn't have much chance either but Messer and Mabe both can matchup with the 2 from NL and the SL supporting cast primarily Buenaventura really dominated on double teams etc. North was severely outplayed and outcoached in the 1st 3 quarters(can't say that often as Mahan is the best coach in the region in my opin) and dug too much of a hole. Mabe for SL is the one that makes that team go, she was beyond gased in last couple of minutes but had just enough for them to hang on. If these teams play in the Region my money would say a much different outcome. But realistically the only game they will be challenged the rest of the regular season will be Franklin. No one in the 13th can touch team otherwise until the tourney starts.

Knox Central is 19-4 with a 7 point loss to Corbin and two narrow losses to out of state teams. The one loss that was bad was to North Laurel in the WYMT Classic….73-37, but that game just got away from Knox and they got back on their heels and just couldn’t mount a comeback, while at the same time NL couldn’t miss a shot. I personally think it was an anomaly to a degree. I would still pick NL probably to win if they meet in the region but it will not be a blowout like the first time. And a Knox- South game are pretty even pick I think.
Someone has to stop Halle Collins and if she is on her game she can carry Knox on her shoulders.

Have you seen any of the previous Knox versus SL games? Mabe has pretty well handled Collins, Halle makes a living on the boards and offensive rebounds. Mabe is the one player in the region who has the size and mobility and has kept her off the boards to a degree. The supporting casts would be key. Personally I don't think South could beat North again but would handle Knox, the loss of Frederick for Knox was huge in my opinion. North is a different animal, I think Mahan actually wanted to lose this game to get his team motivated, too many misteps he normally doesn't make and easy adjustments he didn't do. And if you are comparing the 7pt loss to Corbin consider that SL beat Corbin by 20 at Corbin. NL is the class of the 13th but SL is a solid 2nd by far. Just my opinion.
