Boyd County 72 Ashland 66
#1
Final from Blazer gym a good win for the Lions neither team really shot well especially the Tomcats. They will probably play 2 more times.

Well this should get interesting lol.

Boyd shot the lights out, and played a very good overall game. Childers and Hicks were big in this one, as opposed to the first matchup (Hicks didn't play).

Congrats to Boyd County! I have family visiting so I didn't get to watch the game but it definitely makes things more interesting.

Good game. Childers played awesome tonight. He was the difference maker for BC. This one got interesting late but Boyd controlled the entire second half and went up 12-14 before Ashland make a push and BC just turned the Defense intensity.

I felt like Boyd wanted this game more. Perhaps Ashland had the last meeting in their heads a little bit, thinking it would be a similar outcome.

WOOPS!!!!!
I wonder if any one has the CROW on the stove cooking!

Hey quarters, talking about all who picked. A-Town or about the home grown talent for THE COUNTY that was the difference maker? Several different factors in this game most are on the BC side. Staff/player personnel changes from first game to second. LOL congrats to THE COUNTY for keep it interesting.

BC talent and development was definitely the difference maker. This was what I expected the first game. I’m assuming you mean no Wallace on the bench in this one?

Since you said he is the one calling the shots. Lol. APB had the same starting 5 and same recruiters/coaches on the side.

that is 3-0 at APB in the past three years on their home floor. They may rename that gym to Lions Den. Haha.

Great balance won that game 5 guys in double figures scoring. I think two guys in double figures in rebounding.

Last night game shows BC is the best team in the region and they are still not healthy. Coach Anderson saying in the post game that Spur played with the flu and had a double double.

I'll just leave it at that, but I do hope the CROW is chewy. LOL

Wow!
Sure is quite on here today.
Just wondering if the system is down.
I'm out the door headed  to Woodford County to see if APB can win one today.

I was thinking the same thing. I love to hear some basketball analysis of the game. Discuss what happened! Or if KY wants we can be childish and name call! lol.

Looking at stats on khsaa. It confirmed what I thought. 5 guys scoring in double figures. Boyd shot the ball well and so did Ashland. BC won the rebounding I’m sure with Spur having 12 Rebs and Childers 10rebs. I don’t know what the final count was but that was big difference from the first meeting.

Was a physical game as well. BC controlled pace and at times APB transition was their best offense. Scoring in transition was an issue early for BC.

BC will have to learn to close the door in a game they are up 14 with a few minutes left in the game. The last 3 min looked like they just relaxed on what they had done 2/3rds of the game. Was willing to let Carter just shoot uncontested and that about bit them late. Seemed like he had about all his point in the last 3 min.

Match up for the District should be another game at APB. I think it will be more like this one

Fanman this is fun stirring the pot.  My dogs have been out of this race for several years now, but we might bring in another ones.  Time will tell. HOOPFAN’s team won another battle at James Anderson gymnasium congratulations to Coach A. But the war has ended at MSU the last 6 years with the beloved A-Town winning and it never gets old. Is it possible THE COUNTY could win at MSU this March that would be a yes,  but it would be with a transfer/recruit and not homegrown talent. Lol

Those 6 had more recruits than homegrown. BC 99% home grown.
It’s just hard for you to admit it. Own it. It’s what you all do!

Ok.  I own it with the 6 regional titles. 2018 the most recent was won by not so homegrown talent. Want to go farther back to Zornes and his teams. HOOPFAN all you have done is put down Ashland and you are entitled to that.  But don’t throw stones and act like THE COUNTY has won all of the regional titles with hometown kids and recruiting hasn’t played a part.  1st why would any kid that wants to win go somewhere other than Ashland. 2. Girls basketball at BC has recruited more than all the other teams combined in the 16th. 3 Wanna talk baseball at Boyd,  if my son was very good at Baseball when Hamilton was there he would’ve been a LION.  You my friend please have a nice day and I do hope the county adds another win today.

They can’t. And, they didn’t. Same old story, beat up on the weakest region in the state & crap the bed against teams with a pulse. Yeah, he wins one occasionally. But, his win percentage against good teams has to be dreadful. The step down from Mays is massive. Even if they make it out of the region they’ll be one & done at state. Which is a real shame bc this is probably the most talent they’ve had in the last decade. They’ll never win anything of significance under this regime.
