Holmes is ranked 15 in the state. Magoffin returned 1 starter from their team last year. Id like to see some of these other teams play a team like that.

well paintsville beat tates crrek. ranked 17 in the state. played number 1 team out of WV lost by 3. maybe magoffin jsut didnt come read to play. or holmes just hit everything.

magoffin has 1 starter from last years team, not like magoffin is going to be good. and there isnt a player who can consistenly average over 10 points a game, and if u dont have that, then how are you going to win?

True, but Mag. Co. teams typically play with a lot of heart. Couldn't have been the case in this game.

This is hilarious. Magoffin just stinks the court up dont they. I knew it would be like this, I tried to tell people before the season started but no one listens. With the exception of the 2000-2001 team, Magoffin has always been a joke as a basketball school, **** the whole sports world in magoffin has been a joke for years. No one around here knows how to coach anything. I know most of the kids around here play street ball and then they go and try to play organized team sports and have to play a different style and they cant do it. I am not downing the players, its the coaches they get in around here. The players are talented they just dont have a proven coach. At least when Adams coached up until his last few years they always put a decent enough team on the court to contend night in and night out. I think if a coach has some players that have played street ball most of their lives they should let them play that style and not force them into playing a style they arent used to. It worked here before when Adams was coach. There was a certain player who spent alot of time on playground and park basketball courts and was a heck of a player, but when he started playing high school ball, he couldnt adjust to the style. Then coach allowed him to play his way and it worked, they won the district for the first time in a long time and went to the regional tournament as a favorite to win it until they met up with Pikeville and Chase Gibson that is. Anyway, thats all past history and this is now. Coach needs to do something to get more out of his team than a 19 point effort for an entire game, thats just embarrassing to the school, but its not like they arent used to it. Thankfully like someone said earlier, there are other teams in the east ky area that are going out and playing hard every night and making east ky basketball look better than this pitiful excuse for a team.

4 times defending district champs with a regional title for the girls and a district title for last year for the boys , football team made the playoffs this year and elementary football programs are looking decent ,golf team is pretty good one player signing with UK all in all Magoffin sports is headed in the right direction, dont seem like a joke to me . Was you born an idiot or did you have to take special classes ? Whats your problem didnt Nehi or Pup let you play ? I am stupid for even responding to this ignorant message.Nuff said I wont respond to your idiot statements anymore.

I have taken the time to read your previous post and it seems to me that you are someone who can't say anything positive about anyone. Like I told you last year, come out from behind your screen name and lets discuss your problems. The only shame that has been brought to Magoffin County is You.. Our boys and coaches are fine young men and do a good job.

Say what ya want but I will stick with what I say about them. There is nothing positive about this county or the schools athletic programs besides the girls sports. I havent said anything about Pup so you can hush about that. He is a good coach although in all honesty anyone could have won with the girls he has coached the last few years. The football team made the playoffs this year for the first time in about 13 years or more and its the last time it will happen for another 10 or more years. The baseball team is always mediocre at best, and I dont blame that on the players, its the coaches, they dont know anything around here. Just face it, magoffin sports will never be anything more than mediocre or worse. Oh and im too old to have played for either coach, if I hadnt been, I wouldnt have played for either one. High school sports at magoffin are a joke and thats why I never played, and in all honesty its probably the reason alot of other kids dont play. I mean come on, who wants to be a part of a perennial loser.
