Lexington Catholic at Bell County. Thoughts?

Bell is a great program!! The facilities aren't much, but they have some studs on offense!! If Lex cath. Don't have anyone to cover 6'5" recievers, they are in for a long game

I think the overall team speed of Catholic is something Bell County will not be used to. Rockcastle couldn’t adjust to that last year which led to a 40 point win. I think the score will definitely be a whole lot closer but Catholic is definitely the more battle-tested of the teams. Six of their opponents are still playing while Bell County didn’t have an opponent make it out of the second round. Give me the Knights to advance.

I THINK this will be the best, most competitive game! Which is why I made it the GOTW!

Bell County wins the line of scrimmage ever since this OLine has improved to be a strength when 12 weeks ago it was a weakness, has a power RB that will break tackles like nothing, a QB that will shred any defense if given time or scrambling. The defense is 30 times better than last year with now 9 starters with 2 years experience. Mobile Qbs give bell issues, but drop back passers have typically not been destructive. I think the only place Lex Cath should have the advantage is the speed on the outside, but bell has been outmatched in speed multiple times this year and still come out on top.

Lex Cath will not stop Bell on offense period, but scheme from the Lex cath offense against that Bell Defense is the matchup to watch. I said this 3 weeks ago you have to score 42 to beat bell, and the only teams that can logically do that on this defense are Lex Cath if they are hot, Cal, and Central. I’m interested to see if the staff at Lex Cath can draw up some stuff to get in the endzone. Should be one of the best games this friday night across the state!!

I was thinking Bell County is probably the fifth of sixth best team Catholic will have played this season but after reading this, I would have to put Bell slightly below the 1985 Bears.

I would still say 4th or 5th, but all the reasons I listed is why they lost those games. Unmatched up front on both sides, couldn’t stop the other team from moving the ball, and still had success on offense for the most part minus the boyle game. Just cause they outmatch them at a lot of the positions doesn’t mean they still can’t win. Speed kills that’s a fact. Lex Cath is plenty capable of lighting it up, but from what I’ve seen in the few games on youtube they aren’t even the best defensive team Bell has faced this year.

And i forgot to mention that Lex Cath has a 7 point advantage already just in the special teams game. Which can always prove to be a huge thing especially in november.

Brady Wasik played QB vs East Carter and performed quite well. Threw for 3 TDs. His brother, Jackson, was the QB the last two seasons. The regular starter got banged up but was still playing and actually caught a TD.

Lexington Catholic! No, wait, Bell! No, Lex Cath! Or maybe Bell? Ok, Lex Cath for sure! But perhaps, Bell? Or I guess Lex Cath?

Well, somebody has to win. Us fans certainly will with what should be a great game!

It's tough to win at Bell, it always has been, since I have been paying close attention anyway.
I think if Lex. can adjust to the atmosphere there & settle in pretty quick with their plays
they will win this one, but I secretly hope Bell can win it. I love these mountain teams!

30 times better? I didn't realize the defense sucked so bad last seasson. Only took 24 points for North Laurel to win.

I said this at the beginning of the season. Lex Cath will be 0-6, but will be the best 0-6 team that anyone will face. They ran into a buzzsaw early in the season. Someone mentioned that LC QB is out. He is not definitely NOT, he is healing and resting. He starts and played safety and WR. Caught a TD and made some tackles last weekend. Just wanted to show a different scheme. Give me small Lex Cath team with their speed and athleticism.

Rock scored 40, boyd 40, whitley 40, east carter 36, Cal 40 all last year. They made games that shouldve been over at half time into barn burners that come down to the final play. I wish i could explain just how bad that defense especially in the early part of the year, but daniel thomas had to love it he got to play 4 quarters all season. If you didn’t see it in person you just didn’t know lol.

I expressed my frustration with the offensive line all offseason losing 4 starters, and even said it would lose them the north or boyd game. That is the most improved area of this team by far the season ever since the first half of that north game. Not many offensive lines can go from the number one weakness to a very important strength over the course of one season. I think everyone on this app agrees that a rematch of the two current teams would not have the same outcome. With the current team right now and how they are playing yes you need to be around 40 to get a win. It just so happens Lex cath is one of those teams that can score 40 on them if they come to play.
