History Will Not Forget: Seth Andrews
#1
One of the foremost thinkers and speakers in the country, reflects on this moment in our history, and what it says about us. Seth, a former Christian broadcaster and believer for 30 years, is my favorite speaker. If you have a few minutes to listen to what he says and form your rebuttal, I'd welcome your response.

Supporters of democracy ,  our work is not done .   Defeat paves the way for victory. And we will have victory again, if we heed Benjamin Franklin's admonition: "We have a Republic, if we can keep it."  That's our work now , holding on to our Republic.

Only dumb/brainwashed people have zero complaints about the freak show that was the last 4 years and are suddenly worried about "muh democracy"

Galactic level stupidity.

Stupidity is the least of their problems. They are victims of an almost always fatal condition called "groupthink."
  • Definition: Groupthink is a psychological phenomenon that occurs within a group of people in which the desire for harmony or conformity in the group results in an irrational or dysfunctional decision-making outcome.
  • Pressure to Conform: Members of the group may feel pressure not to express arguments against any of the group’s views, leading to a decrease in critical thinking and skepticism.
  • Illusion of Unanimity: Groupthink may produce an apparent consensus by suppressing dissenting viewpoints and isolating the group from outside influences.
  • Self-Censorship: Individuals avoid voicing contrary opinions due to the fear of disrupting the apparent harmony or because they believe their concerns are unique to them.
  • Illusion of Invulnerability: Groups under the influence of groupthink tend to be overly optimistic and take extreme risks.
  • Direct Pressure on Dissenters: Members who offer arguments against any of the group’s plans may be pressured by other members to conform to the majority opinion.
  • Mindguards: Some members may appoint themselves as protectors against adverse information that might threaten group complacency.
  • Stereotyping the Out-group: The group may construct negative stereotypes of external critics or rivals, further entrenching their own views.
These dynamics can lead to suboptimal outcomes and decisions that are not based on a rational assessment of all information available.

"suboptimal outcomes" is the understatement of the century lol

Atheists will not be writing the history of the United States. I had never heard of Seth Andrews but was not surprised to discover that he is an atheist activist, not a serious thinker.

Christopher Hitchens, who was also an atheist, was a great thinker and journalist, whose writing was not centered around his atheism. It is possible for an atheist to be intelligent, respect the beliefs of others, and not be obsessed with converting religious people to atheism, but it is rare. OSH is no Christopher Hitchens.

It is not possible to be intelligent and atheist. Unlimited galaxies and millions of forms of life (plant, animal, and human) cannot magically appear from total nothingness. Atheists may be good at other things, but they are still the dumbest smart people on Earth - which wasn't formed when there was nothing and then it exploded.

I disagree, but I can't think of another atheist besides Hitchens, who was alive during my lifetime that I considered to be a great thinker. Although he was an atheist, Hitchens recognized that Christianity has been a net positive on civilization, and he consistently ridiculed Muslim jihadists.

In general, I can respect agnostics who acknowledge the possibility that God exists, but still lack the faith that He definitely exists. Atheists are generally the most closed-minded people on the planet, but believe themselves to be the smartest, funniest, and most moral people in the world. We see a good example of that truth everyday.
