Pikeville is bigger, stronger, and faster already. Not only that but they are older and more mature. Much like Raceland, this group has taken full advantage of the way the land scape of academics and athletics have changed over the last few years. Just as someone has mentioned about Somerset, Pikeville looks like a JV team rather than a JR high team. Not just in their size and strength, but in the way they execute on both sides of the ball.

I know a pretty close figure. Spoke to someone about it this weekend. Fwiw…I’m for it and think more people should do it. It’s done wonders for my oldest and i can’t wait to see what it does for my middle child. And I’m not talking about athletics either. My oldest had never gotten higher than a 2.2 GPA. First semester he finished with a 3.7 and was in tears he was so happy.

Whether they have them or don’t, doesn’t matter. Everyone has the same opportunities. Some schools choose to take advantage of them, some don’t. For me, idk why anyone would t hold their kid back whether they are an athlete or not. There are kids that have taken advantage or graduating early, graduating with multiple semesters of college course work completed. It’s a no brainer, imo

I heard this Pikeville team had like 26 8th graders. Now that is a huge class.

They had a lot on the sideline but I’m pretty sure a chunk of them were seventh graders.
