Pikeville is a sloppy mess

What happened in this game? I expected Pikeville to put a beat down on Hazard. It seems like Pikeville couldn’t put them away.

I think some injuries are playing a part with Pikeville right now.
Offensive play calling this Year has been Pikeville's biggest problem. No sense of urgency and predictable play calling. No tempo and breaking the huddle late. I know we wanted to get rid of Stoops at Kentucky, but who hired him as the OC at Pikeville this year ???

Ok…I’m baffled

Could be a Pikeville Raceland matchup in Ramland in round 3. Won’t happen though if Hazard beats clay county

If Pikeville plays like they did tonight they'll lose at Boyd Co next week for sure. Better get the Offensive Pace fixed and start opening up the play book next week to prepare for the Playoffs.

I think Hazard is better than Boyd.

Pikeville play calling is trash. No other way to say it. Yes they have people hurt and special teams is still bad. Everyone in the stadium knew Hazard was going to onside kick except our coaches and players. But the play calling is the worst I’ve ever seen. Their staff does not seem to prepare the offense and they have a senior QB who has won 2 state championships as a starter. Teams continue to load the box and they continue to run it an enormous percentage of plays. It is mind boggling to anyone with a basic knowledge of football. Pikeville has the most talent of anyone in 1A by a fair margin but they aren’t winning it this year unless there is a drastic change. Like Jet said, they aren’t winning begging someone else to take it and I think it will happen. If their defensive coordinator wasn’t excellent, they would be even worse.

Hazard is not a bad team. I know we running clocked them before halftime but that was an anomaly. The snowball of turnovers got the snowball rolling down the hill and they couldn’t stop it

It was a strange Pikeville victory. The young men are ambitious and playing hard, but something is going on with the sideline play calling.
Every week I keep hoping there is a method to the madness, but if that's the way it is, there's only so many times one can go to the well.

It’s simple. They are waiting for the Super Bowl 2 match up with the Rams.

A win is a win but this one was ugly. Something needs to be fixed and quick.

Hall, Stanley, and Anthony play tonight?

I have been watching Pikeville for a few years now and this team on certain series looks as good as any Pikeville team I have seen then comes the terrible Pikeville team and me personally I think it’s the play calling and it is terrible in most cases and I think it puts these young man in a bad position and if you coach a bunch of players you think the coaches would know their weaknesses and strengths by now but unfortunately they don’t Pikeville has a pretty good defense and that coach calls a good game but on offense is a hole different matter and looks like to me Coach Mac would see that like tonight the team comes in after a break between 3rd quarter and 4th and had to call a timeout before they ran a play that is purely on the coaches but not all of it was on the coaches the players are not playing with any heart well some of them are but it takes eleven or your team will break down and for the next game if they don’t play 4 quarters of good football they will lose

No doubt. Still time but time is running out.

How long is it going to take for these Pikeville injuries to heal? Seems like the same players have been injured from the start of the season.
Some of you should go back and look at the schedule Pikeville played early on. It was simply to hard for them. May of been better if they would have played some creampuffs and been undefeated and not had all these injuries. All I heard was oh it will help them in the long run. Yeah it may have if some of their key guys didn’t get hurt. Pikeville has a really good 1A team. They more than likely weren’t showing all their cards last night either. Wished I could say my team I’m for is #1 in class A. Pikeville has a great coach and a real good staff of assistants. I’d be a lot more supportive.

I think the schedule situation for Pikeville is similar to what it was for Raceland. Both teams have had the kids to compete or at the very least, had the numbers to stay healthy against that type of schedule. While in comparison to other 1A programs, the depth weighs heavily in their favor, against major 3/4A schools, and mid-major 5/6A schools, playing them week in and week out takes its toll. Pikeville didn’t schedule big schools to gain points in the RPI. It’s about pushing your program. If it takes its toll, that’s the risk you signed up for. Raceland has dealt with injuries as well because of the schedule. We still had 5 or 6 in street clothes last night. The problem isn’t the schedule. The problem is a team that is simply struggling, for whatever reason. All programs go through it. But let’s not act like the Pikeville sky is falling…the won the damn game lol

Same Hazard team was ahead of Corbin a few weeks ago to at halftime. Lot of people forget about that. Hazard has a darn good team at times.

I haven’t watched this game but my question is….was Hazard in anyway at any point in this game capable of winning? If no then this score means nothing. It could’ve been 100-6! So Pikeville wasn’t firing on all cylinders, that’s easily done when a bunch of teenagers hear all week about how it’s gonna be a running clock in the first half. Raceland played NCC and it was somewhat close on the scoreboard but the teams were miles apart on the field. Some of you Pikeville fans sound like Kentucky basketball fans…yeah we won but not by 30 so there’s something wrong
