First road game of the season as we travel to Oxford.
Despite not playing anyone, Ole Miss has been putting up some astronomical offensive numbers, averaging 61 ppg, and nearly 700 ypg.
Obviously will be a tough test, but UK defense has been solid so far this season. This is going to be one of those type games that will determine how the rest of the season goes.
What's everyones thoughts?

One thing I like is that UK is definitely battle tested already. Took #1 Georgia to the wire.
I like our defense. Maybe strength of schedule thus far might play into this game.

To borrow a phrase from my Boyle buddy, Jack Lambert, Kentucky is gonna get dog walked(or, maybe, cat walked) in Oxford. The defense will do its best to keep UK in it but they will be asked to do too much.

I think UK will be competitive for a quarter. By half, Ole Miss should have it. Georgia was a great game for UK, but I don't think our defense can handle Dart. The meadows in the desert have Ole Miss as a 17.5 favorite. I think that is generous to Kentucky.
Perhaps I'm being too negative, but I am afraid of this one.

I'm going to go against the grain here. We've played well in Oxford-- I was there in 2010 and watched us squander another opportunity in 2022. The Cats kept it close in 2005 as well.
For all the hype that it gets, The Grove is overrated. Sure, you'll see plenty of displays from fans who probably wish it were the early 1860's, but Vaught-Hemingway only seats around 65K and was only recently enclosed entirely; not the most intimidating atmosphere or tough to get everything communicated over the noise. No offense, but an 11 am kick isn't exactly Saturday Night in Death Valley.
Ole Miss can score quickly, but offenses that take lots of risks are also prone to short drives that leave their defense fatigued and in bad field position, which isn't a great thing against an opponent that can control the clock.
The early line isn't encouraging, but the game probably goes one of two ways:
1.) Ole Miss scores enough that Kentucky has to get out of their element and the 'Cats are blown out unless they start playing to keep it close
or
2.) Kentucky's defense creates enough havoc that the offense isn't asked to do too much and can just play complementary football. They do so well enough to stay within striking distance, and the last 2-3 possessions determine the outcome.
X-Factor won't be Ole Miss' offense or Kentucky's defense, it will be Kentucky's offense and Ole Miss' defense.

I hate negativity. That being said, I'm also a realist.
To make the answer short, I don't think UK will win a single game in the SEC.
I was encouraged when we won last week. I wasn't able to watch the game live so I recorded it. I almost wish I hadn't.

@Granny Bear I am just like you, a realist. One thing that has always rang true for me as a Kentucky football fan, hope for the best but expect the worst.

@Bluecat and that is saying something right there. We've had some abysmal offenses over the years.

So, what do ya know!!! This season has certainly taken a turn or two. KY's defense will give them a chance to win most games. The offense did enough. Gut check game. They showed guts. And guts is enough...

Congratulations to UK and Coach Stoops. Huge win, and that is an understatement.
