Pikeville vs Corbin 2024
#1
Now I'm not the only one out here without a Corbin thread yay!

I would like to see Corbin come to Pikeville. Actually I want Corbin and Pikeville to play every year. Pikeville and Corbin are the top 2 football towns in the East IMO and in the top 5 statewide.

Watch this...

I would like Pikeville's first 4 games every year to be Corbin, Johnson Central, Belrfy and LCA (as long as Doug Charles, Pikeville grad is HC) as home and away series...and it would make all 4 programs stronger every year...

And sorry OSH Corbin would get drilled if they had to come to Pikeviile this year lol

That's Carson Wright also on the video who is on full scholarship at UK football and also All-SEC Academic BTW. How awesome is that?

I think this will be a excellent evening of football at Campbell Field. the evening will start with Beechwood vs Pulaski and end with Corbin vs Pikeville. I think this years Pigskin will be fun to watch in both games. I think every team there will be trying to prove a point. I expect there to be a big crowd for these games with four tough programs going at it that all have big fanbases. I think they all get tons of growth from it too.

Just in Pikeville?

4 really good football teams in Corbin for the bowl games. Corbin and Pikeville get the primetime spot but not so sure that the best team in Corbin that night will be playing in the first game. Beechwood has almost everyone back from a team that only lost 2 heartbreakers last year to the 4A runner up and the 2A champion. The slowest of their 3 starting receivers ran a laser timed 4.5 40 this summer. That offense is going to be fun to watch.

I don't foresee any "drilling" for either team at either location. I think both are tough squads. I expect the defenses to be key in this game because both are going to be animals of offensive side of the ball. I don't foresee the veteran players on Corbin's squad that have played against the likes of Boyle, FD & Martinsburg playing in front of large crowds to be rattled by the game though at either location and they will set the tone for the other players. but most of the new players will be coming off a really good JV season and having seen significant minutes last season during blowout games often on the varsity level with teams that are pissed.

I’m going have take Pikeville in this game.

I think if Pikeville beats JC this year, JC will drop them. The Pikeville Corbin game will be close. Two hard working teams. See if the new coach will be clicking with the team this soon.

No way Pikeville Holds Corbin to only 13. Im hearing offense won’t be a problem and better than last year. It’s defense that is the concern, I see Corbin actually playing players both ways this year. You can’t have your best athletes standing on the sideline for half the game like in years past.

Will be nice to see some stud athletes in the defensive backfield for the Hounds , for a change. Myles Meadors will be one of the best in 4A. Lightning fast (4.49/40yd , 11.02/100m). Also is a return specialist and WR but DB seems to be what colleges are salivating over. Has received offere from from Appy State,   Marshall, and most recently, EKU.

Also , young Salmons second position is DB. Since Elam will be the primary guy at QB, look for Salmons to also be in the defensive backfield. He's also an elite athlete and very quick.

I like big matchups. Corbin should go to Pikeville. Play in their Bowl game a few times since Pikeville has came to Corbin.

I came to Corbin and watched the last time these two played and it was a really good and physical game but I understand why Corbin shouldn’t play these 1A teams because of the RPI system and that really hurts the 1A teams no matter what the RPI backers say and hopefully this game is a great game for both teams and no injuries happen

1. There is very very few players in this state that can break a real 4.5 40. It’s blatant bs that one team can have 3 in one position group in 2A and not dominate. They are very good athletes and will have a very good season regardless.
2. The up front size of both of these teams would stand tall over beechwood. Mayfield dominated the front last season and the front guys for corbin and pikeville are just as good if not better. So no the best team is not in the first game.

Luke Erdman won the 100 and 200 KY state championship and ran a 4.47 laser timed 40, Tyler Fryman ran a 6.2 laser timed 60 at national baseball showcase which tied the fastest time at the showcase and James Cusick ran a 4.57 laser timed 40 at the Naval Academy football camp. Better have your track shoes along with your bull butter if your playing Beechwood Elvis.

The Beechwood line also has 2 kids who have D1 offers and the other 3 starters all returning starters from last season. One of the kids is a transfer from Cincinnati Moeller who started guard at Moeller last season. Average size of their offensive line will be around 6’2” 240 I would guess that their line is probably bigger and more athletic than either Corbin or Class A Pikeville. Sorry but you are wrong again.

Speaking of  under 4.5/40 guys, Corbin's Cabell Midland transfer, Myles Meadors has posted a sub 4.5 /40 , as well as a 11.02 /  100 m.  Received an offer from Marshall and EKU  earlier this month to add to his offer from Appy St.

His speed is wild especially in track, would’ve been third in the 100m this year if he was at corbin in the state. Dalton elliot and him will definitely be the fastest in the mountains.

Now i have to say that beechwood does have one receiver, erdman, who ran a 10.77 and 22 flat 200m. Which is absolutely INSANE. Having three with that realm of speed on one team though is about impossible.

11.02 100 likely doesn’t translate to a sub 4.5 40..

Look it up Gridiron. Tyler Fryman is one of the top baseball prospects in the state and was offered by Louisville for baseball in the 8th grade. He ran the fastest 60 at the national baseball showcase that had some of the top ranked kids in the country. Now I am not sure what a 6.2 60 would equate to in the 40 but it is really really fast. And their other receiver who is probably the slowest of the 3 if you can call him slow James Cusick ran a laser timed 4.57 at the Naval Academy football camp. And as you said Luke Erdman ran a 10.7 100 and won the KY state championship in May. Now based on that those are 3 really really fast kids and we haven’t even started talking about QB Clay Hayden who was one of the top QBs in the state last year. He threw for almost 4000 yards and over 40 TDs. Like I said earlier you better bring your track shoes.

If Beechwood has anyone that can throw the ball at all, they should put a running clock on every team that they play then.  With those speeds, they have a faster receiving corps than the University of Georgia.  Probably the fastest overall group of receivers in the country, and definitely the fastest in the history of the state of Kentucky.  Very impressive.  I'll look forward to watching them break every passing and scoring record in Kentucky, if not USA history.

Do your research and look it up Walt and by the way they also have a pretty good running back Chase Flaherty returning from last season. Should be fun team to watch.
