15th region top 5 (post summer ball)
#1
What’s everyone’s thoughts post summer ball on how the top 5 in region will rank. And thoughts on the rest of region after summer?

I wouldn't put any stock ranking teams after "summer ball" because players aren't always there, sometimes kids play with a school then go back to their original school etc. Wait until school starts and go from there.

Top 2 from summer ball either team could be 1.
Floyd central- Spriggs might be the best floor general in the region. He makes everyone better and has a good supporting cast which makes them a dangerous team. They’ve been playing great this summer.

Martin County- I think they have the best player in the region now with the out of state transfer.  He has shooters all around an the way they spread the court make them a very dangerous team.

3. Johnson Central- they have struggled but Coach McKenzie will have them where he needs them come season. Too talented not to be on the list. Could be best team in the region by tournament time.

4. Paintsville- returned pretty much everyone like JC too talented not to be on list. (57th gonna be a gauntlet an all 3 of these teams could be in semi finals at the expo depending on the draw.

5 Pikeville- key players are going to have to learn how to trust their teammates. Both came from teams that they didn’t have much help on and had to do everything. But once the new players have more time under coach Justice they could make case for top spot.

Ain’t no way that Floyd central is better than Martin, JC, or Pikeville. Also, I’ve heard spriggs daddy talking, he might not be there much longer

Martin co finishes up summer ball at 17-5 and undefeated in the 15th. Playing real good together. People in the region better watch out. Heard they also might be getting another player to add to the already star studded roster. Top 5 setting right now is this

1. Martin Co
2. Pikeville
3. Johnson Central
4. Paintsville
5. Pike Central

Heading into the dead period I can say this, Martin Co boys are feeling really good about themselves and this coming up season. Heck even Josh Horn is excited!!

I should have worded it better. I did not rank them just thought they were the top 2 from summer ball teams and then everyone else. I think Martin County is the top team from summer ball. The way things are nowadays who knows what other teams will get in the high school transfer portal.

From what I heard JC and Pikeville had all kind of problems this summer. Both teams have two of the best coaches in the region with a ton of talent on the team, so by the time season begins both can compete for the top spot.

Don't see where the kid that came from pburg fits in at MC, played limited minutes all summer and looked lost at times when he was on the floor from the few games I saw on D&D.

It’s only summer ball and Estridge is still trying to get used to a new system. Coach James plays more up tempo then chase did at pburg even though he came from the same system. Estridge roll will become more apparent as we get into the real season this winter. The boy works harder than most other athletes a much needed break this dead period is needed.

Also Darryl running his mouth to Kevin, pj, and Penix (assistants on MC) ain’t helping it any either
