To be successful, I think JC will have to play their best game of the season and force a subpar game from the Hounds.

 I am going to meditate some more on this one but the Universe seems to be telling me there is a Rude Awakening ahead for some EKY birds next Friday evening.

Like I said last week one game at a time, JC is as capable of winning this game as they where last year. Going off common opponents to judge a win has seen a great many teams sitting home the following week. Corbin needs to come out next week as focused as they where Friday night and work on cleaning up some miscues this week that could have really costs them Friday night against other teams….

JC obviously needs to be successful with their "Ground & Pound" attack. They need long, sustained drives of six or seven minutes to limit the number of Corbin possessions. If you are a JC fan, you want to see Corbin limited to 3-4 possessions per half(preferably 3) , which means your offense must win time of possession big time. We will know by the end of the first quarter whether this is going to be a competitive game or whether Corbin delivers another early knockout.

Corbin has looked phenomenal this year. JC, as usual you KNOW they are good, but just like LOUISVILLE Central, this Central you just don't know if they might be championship good...I go with Corbin but I feel this is not the best style matchup.

What miscues? I really didn’t see any besides one blown coverage and the fumble. Other than that we had a pretty solid game. I’d venture to say we held them under 120 yds. Not real sure. Offense was clicking, D swarmed the ball. Just curious. Didn’t think we did anything bad enough to cost us a game to another opp. 49-0 is a pretty dang good game.

Haha well I guess if you would call pikeville a typical 1a school then that just shows how clueless you really are. I’d put money down to say pikeville could beat most 4a teams. And if really think that’s gonna be the score I’ll throw 200$ down on a gentleman’s bet and meet you at the main gate to collect.

I wouldn't say the underdog role, Johnson Central is the underdog, some Corbin fans are going after the Rodney Dangerfield role - the "We don't get no respect" role. We need a popcorn icon but I guess that I will have to settle for some real popcorn.

The key to this game is simple. Whichever team controls the LOS will probably win.

I have never said that Corbin is underrated. They have played a weak schedule and so has Johnson Central. I have also gone on record saying that Corbin, Johnson Central, nor any other 4A team would stand a chance against a top tier 6A team such as Trinity. I think that the Shamrocks proved me right last night on that point. Simon Kenton, a team that ran through Corbin's defense like a hot knife through butter, was totally gassed after playing a good half a game against Trinity.

I am not making any predictions in this thread but Corbin has not played and offense like Johnson Central's since losing to the Golden Eagles last season. This game will be won on the line of scrimmage because if JC's running backs consistently make it past the line of scrimmage before contact, they are very hard to tackle one-on-one. On the flip-side, Johnson Central needs to keep pressure on Elam and not give him much time to find his receivers.
