Pikeville 72 Teays Valley WV 62 (Ashland Invitational Tournament)
#1
Final.from the AIT

Good bounceback win for the Panthers after yesterday's buzzer beater loss to the Purples.

Very nice job of not letting one loss become two.

Teays Valley was solid in their one game in the PIT.

Teays Valley gave a very good 10-1 Cincinnati Elder a good game yesterday in the AIT before losing by 9 points so this is a good win for the Panthers...I watched the game on MyTown TV and Teays Valley had some good lookin players and were a very athletic team it seemed.

Admittedly I'm not a big high school basketball fan, or basketball fan at any level for that matter. I haven't attended a high school basketball game in person in over 20 years besides my annual trip to the Sweet 16 every March. I haven't been this excited about a Pikeville basketball team since probably 1999 and I think this year's team has a higher ceiling than that team did.

I stated in another post Pikeville will drop a few more games this season. Let February get her and by then Sammons will be back at full capacity. Worrix is best player in state for his size. You add depth Pikeville has with outstanding coaching and 15th is theirs to lose. GRC right now is best team in the state of Kentucky. Pikeville falls in top 10 somewhere in 8/10 range. But in February it only takes maybe 1 bad quarter and your out. Make it to Rupp then anything can happen
