Best coach in the 13th, he'll be hard to replace. My Opinion.
#4
Good coach but most definitely not the best coach in the 13th.

Maybe they can actually find a way to get a win over Corbin now. LOL

I think the South Laurel's Davis and Corbin's Pietrowski are the top two. And until Tony starts beating Jeff, I'm putting Davis at the top.

I'm new to this forum but I'm not new to KHSAA Sports, With all respect let me state my opinion - "Corbin has developed an elite private academy disguised as a Public Independent School, and they've done it well, they keep setting the bar higher and higher for neighboring schools - do it the better or loose your kids/athletes to the hounds". In my opinion Pietrowski who's done his part to get Corbin to where they are but to say he is the regions top coach is a stretch, if you stuck any half way descent coach at Corbin the support behind athletics is so deep it's crazy, therefore the success of Pietrowski has to give equal credit to the prep transfer portal, stick him at Red Bird a couple years and see how he does. Hounds have had their pick of any descent athletes within a 30 minute drive of the school in all sports, I don't say that with any negative caveats, the only thing restricting Corbin from becoming a 6A powerhouse is the number of addresses cousin, papaws, & guardians can use for kids to put on paper listing where they live, let me add, if I lived within 30 minutes of Red - Houndsville I'd have my kids enrolled there, they obviously know how to do things. Kudos to them in every aspect, their motto should be "if you can't beat us, join us".

I'm hearing a Old Knox coach is returning.

What did Tony do to lose favor with administration?

Maybe mama Turner will take over the helm. She's been a great one woman feeder program.

I’m hearing if coach Patterson goes.  So does 3 starters to Corbin. True story!! So that tells me Patterson will get rehired with in 48hrs

Come on down 25E,  fellas.  You get a good education and get to make a run at a state title. Let's do it!!!!

What's the speculation on why Patterson had to step down?

I’d rather play for Patterson if I had my choice of coaches in the 13th to play for. I’d rate him #1.

This is a HUUUUGE story!!! I can't believe there's not 200 posts already. I think most of us are still in football mode.
#15
This is huge. Can't believe more people aren't talking. Weeks before season starts and a BB head coach resigns. Especially from a regional champion.

I'm wondering why he was let go in the first place.

I was told he had a close practice for 3hrs and wouldn’t let nobody in the gym.

HOW AWFUL!!!!   Here I was thinking he must have had a dalliance with a teenage Panther lass. Of course, I guess that would be a good reason to not let anyone in the gym.
#21
Practices should always be closed. Parents or others have no business in the gym.

I agree. From what I've seen from parents, especially ones in Knox County, I might even suggest that parents not be allowed in the gym during GAMES!!!!

My opinion is this is a bad decision for the higher ups at knox if they allow this to go forward.
#24
Evidently he’s already back.
Hopefully this doesn’t impact their season, but they are typically strong finishers.
#25
Really hope Coach Patterson is back. He’s built Knox into a good program year in and year out. Knox should be really strong in the 13th again this year.
#26
I have absolutely no connection to Knox County or the administration, but the story says he RESIGNED. What is all the talk about bad decisions and shame on Knox officials. It was apparently worked out anyway. I heard something about Title IX issues.
#27
So is he officially back or is Tony P's(Corbin) roster about to get richer ???
#28
Heard last night that Turner was enrolling at North Laurel Monday.
#29
Is he coaching or not?
#30
According to this this article, his resignation was short lived.
