What happen to Obi ? I seen on line score they got beat by Jackson County at OBI mountaineers home court.
#2
I thought OBI would win that one.

OBI and New Coach not working out like people thought. Same 3 scorers from last season plus Hall best big in Regional. They still want play and defense and seldom come ready to play.
#4
Coach has poured his heart into team. The seniors with the exception of hall refuse to come ready to play. These kids don’t care about winning.

BigMouth.. somebody said Jackson county looked very good intense in their defense n seems they are getting better each game they are playing not taking nothing from Obi but does Jackson look like they are going to be a danger for district come district time ? Not putting Obi down but Obi played with North for 3 n half quarters n lost but my point is North rolled in at Jackson and gave Jackson a beat down at Jackson.

I’m about to give up on them. The head coach scouts constantly, practices 2 hours a day. The seniors refuse to play hard with the exception of one. I guess they have been let go to long. They have allowed 10 3,s over the last several games. I feel sorry for the coach. There one thing you can’t coach and that’s heart. Either you got it or you don’t.

From what I seen when we played them they only got two well coached players to me and that’s the Hall kid and Estep kid. I think that is there last names they was on the WYMT clip

NO ,Heart is totally a lack of effort. Set them down until they find some effort. Hey you getting beat anyway. Lose with players who give you a effort. Cannot get better if people are playing with lack of effort. JMO

I made this game last night thinking it would be a good one don't get me wrong it did end up a 2 point win for Jackson. The estep kid I believe # 0 hit alot of threes and did pretty good shooting wise i think they need to work on rebounding because they not doing that at all. Need to not let other teams have wide open lay ups which they do in the games I've watched their defense is awful and for some reason the hall kid didn't touch the ball much at all last night they usually feed it to him but not last night I don't know what was up with that. I'm like someone said on here a few days ago you don't know which OBI team is gonna show up.

Like you and Bigmouth thought. I said it a dozen times that you guys were building up expectations too much. They are capable of knocking off a good team, but the only two impressive wins all season were Wolfe and W-burg. Then they lost to J Frank White.

They started the year off like 6-2 and now they’ve lost I don’t know how many. It seems they have lost their ability to compete. It’s always hard coming in and taking over a struggling program. Hall is the only new player from last year. I know one of the assistants pretty well and he seems optimistic still. Even though there are struggles I see Oneida moving on up in years to come. But I will say every since I started following Oneida they have struggled and Clay has been playing their best ball in years. So I apologize Oneida fans I may be a curse!

From what I’ve seen they are a few on the team that plays out of control bad turn overs like crazy! But these kids have been at OBI all their lives from what I was told so that goes back to coaching some kids can’t break old habits. Definitely need a point guard from what I’ve seen.

OBI should have won this one. They have more talent. Anyone who thinks this bunch is getting out of this District is just whistling in the wind. Not a good year.
#14
OBI fans are throwing those talented players from the summer under the bus now.
#15
No not throwing under bus. I k ow the coach is still optimistic but shew it getting late in year

At what point does the coach take some of the blame? By some accounts they were supposed to be top 5 or 10 in the region and here they are sitting at the bottom with Red Bird and Pineville.
#17
You guys have got to consider the dynamics of the school when questioning why Oneida basketball is the way that it is. They always have athletes but I’m not sure there is any coach around that can come in and change some of the OBI players mentality.
#18
I’d say coach does take all the blame. That he couldn’t get them to play hard. I’ve been to a couple of his practices, he’s teaching them right. They just will not respond. I’m one of his close friends. He tells me all the time it’s his fault they aren’t winning.
#19
I will say this though. It’s hard to coach and teach heart.
#20
I was always told to be a good coach you have to know what your players can take and can’t take! How far you can push them before they break it all comes back to knowing your players. But I think this guy coached down there once before and I heard there was no success. Loaded with talent but no one to get it out of them. From the team I seen us play and I’ve watched them a few times they should not be down with red bird or pineville but that’s just my opinion I guess.

Heart wasn't mentioned in the top 5-10 debate all summer and fall. They do have some games coming up they definitely should win.
