I posted about this previously but didn't get any hits, so I figured I'd start this thread to see if anyone can offer any explanations.
Using the formula described by the KHSAA on its website, I've calculated Pikeville's Winning Percentage ("WP") as 1.107. However, the KHSAA has their WP listed as 1.093. The only logical explanation I can come up with for this discrepancy is that somehow Pikeville is not getting the full win value for their game against Jenkins.
Based on information provided by the KHSAA on its site, Jenkins started the "competitive season", which means they forfeited all remaining games on their schedule. Doesn't that mean that every team that accepted a forfeit from Jenkins should earn the full "win value" for the game based on the KHSAA's game value factors formula (i.e., Pikeville would receive a win value of 1 based on the game involving two Class A schools; 1.323/1.323 = 1).
If Pikeville earned a win value of 1 for the Jenkins game, then their total win value for the 9 games they've played should be 9.966. Divide that by 9 games, and you should get 1.107 as Pikeville's WP (9.966/9 = 1.107). But again, the KHSAA has their WP listed as 1.093. I know that's a very small difference, but every point counts in this new RPI system.
I believe the Jenkins game is this issue because as stated in my other post, I found discrepancies in both Breathitt County and Hazard's Winning Percentages. They both have also "won" games against Jenkins this year. I was curious if anyone had any other explanation for the discrepancies in those teams' Winning Percentages.

No time to do the math but any chance it has already figured in the 0.50 for Ridgeview? I agree it is odd.

Iâm talking about it just the âWinning Percentageâ portion of the RPI formula, not the overall RPI score. I donât believe Ridgeview is already factored in because if Pikeville loses, they wonât receive anything towards their Winning Percentage. There are two possible outcomes for the Ridgeview game, win and receive a win value of 1 for the game (1.323/1.323 = 1) or lose and get 0 points.

On the KHSAA page for the RPI calculation for Jenkins the "class" is blank. Just the same as an out of state team. Therefore it appears to me that the KHSAA is treating this win as within the same class. Also on Pikeville's RPI calculation page Jenkin's "class" is also blank. It looks like they should have just cancelled the games and not forfeited. I don't think the teams that took a weather cancellation were penalized.

How is Sayre counted? As a win or as an open date?
Because Phelps did NOT take a FFT win from Jenkins... they scheduled Sayre on 10/18 (and won).
