Clay County 48 Perry Central 20
#1
clay threw the ball well. I believe this sets up a big game in a couple of weeks for the tigers.

Perry Central is as bad as they have ever been..

Many “first time since” moments this season. This is likely the first time Clay County has won two district games since 2010. As mentioned above, sets up a big matchup with Harlan County. On a side note, people in Manchester know all to well what is happening at PCC. You lose a great senior class (CC - 2010, PCC - 2018) and if there’s not players immediately behind them, it can take 7-10 years to recover. It’s not fun for sure.

Most definitely the truth. Perry lost what was probably the best senior class they have ever had there and in numbers too. I think there was about 13 seniors and most of them saw significant play, several on both sides of the ball with no breaks. Hard to replace that when you only have 30-35 players every year. That group of seniors was Tom Larkey's freshman class and they spent 3 years under his leadership. They played with heart and leadership. The program can rebuild of they put the work into it.
