Based on?? Maybe a stronger than expected performance against Pikeville?

Well since RAMDAD50 pick Ashland, I am going with the RAMS because I know most of the time he is wrong or trying to hype this Rams up

This is goina be a tough one. The Rams have bounced back from the Heighton injury it seems and they have amped up their physicality in the last few games. Ashland is more one demensional than they have been in the last few years, but they have some good size and atheleticism in the trenches and Hester is an elite back in NEKY. We also do not have the depth we have had in years past and it's been said numerous times that "it's a good thing we play Ashland early in the year". That being said, this is a game that we can win. But, we will have to remain creative in the run game and try and keep them spread out defensively and in man coverage. Hughes has really grown up alot the last few weeks and looks to be in a good rhythm with Lewis and Cox. But has trouble with reads against a zone. I was really suprised with our ability to make Portsmouth West earn there 200+ yards rushing and didnt give up the big play. But make no mistake Ashland is no Port West. If we can make them earn their points and not give up the big play, we have a shot. With all that said...

I hope I am wrong and the rumor mill says that Heighton could be back. I just hope he is 100% and we dont throw him to the wolves to try and only play him bc w feel he is our only shot at beating the Tomcats. I think the Rams have grown alot over the last couple weeks but still have alot to prove.

One of those games that scares me. Ashland coming off a bye well rested but out of there routine. Home field advantage is negligible too. Raceland is as comfortable at Putnam as if it's their home away from home. Don't see Raceland having a lot of success on the ground but throwing it around to those speedsters on the outside could keep it close with big plays. Hester and Pittman will be hard to handle and think Ashland can control the game wear down the Rams D and pull away late. Tomcat's 28 Rams 14

Kind of my thoughts. I think ur tomcats numbers could be an issue for us later in the game. We dont have the depth we have had in recent years. I expect a good ball game though.

Ashland is to much for the Rams , at Putnam and better coaches

I just hope we score.

I would love to see the Rams pull off the upset. I know it was just a scrimmage but they went toe to toe and blow for blow with Belfry and looked pretty good doing it. But like I said, it was just a scrimmage and I'm not sure how much you can take from it. IMO, they do have the weapons to keep it close and possibly pull the upset. But with that said, I still think Ashland will be to much for the Rams at Putnam and pulls away a little in the second half and gets the win. The Tomcats are playing some good football right now.

Were you been sidelinedoc, now you do know the Rams are going score how many we don’t know.

If the RAMS can avoid big plays & keep it to a two-score game they can win. The defense can't be on the field all night.

Lol trying to use the ole poor me , poor ole Rams I hope we score, I hope we are to show up and bus the don’t break down and we can put our uniforms on the right way .

Most would say Ashland is better than Russell. While that may be true, I think if you look at matchups, we match up better with Ashland than we did with Russell. I agree with Slic. If we can manage drives and keep our defense fresh, we can win the ball game.

Ashland by a bunch. Hopefully it will be a injury free game so the Rams can be at full strength when they come to Paintsville on the 25th.

We did play well during our scrimmage. We played terrible defense in our first 2 games and with Heighton injured, we played even worse against Russell. Since that time, we have played like I think we are capable and I do believe we would've beaten Pikeville if we had our QB. That being said, I hope we play good defense and our QB2 can play like he did last week. Ashland is tough and I do believe we have our work cut out for us.

Raceland has beaten Rowan co and Portsmouth west who are a staggering 5-6 combined since getting and I quote from their fearless leader “ teeth kicked in by Russell ” which they were down 14-0 when their QB went out so if some want take two wins against very weak teams a moral victory have it partner . After Ashland beats them badly some won’t be back in here for couple of weeks it’s their MO

It wasn’t 14-0 when Jake went out but it doesn’t matter! The combined win lose total of Irontons opposition is pretty poor itself and will only get worse as the play in that stellar OVC! Let’s stop belittling teams cause there is no superior team in this area this year and that includes teams from across the river!
