Wayne Co. 44 Southwestern 6
#1
Final. Wayne Co. lead 31-0 at the half. Southwestern scored with 49 seconds left.
#2
Where oh where has French gone.
#3
Hines is still the king of Pulaski County
SW should have held off on all the trash talking

Where have all the people gone saying that Foley would be able to do what Larry couldn’t do.

I don't have anything against Southwestern and hoped they would have a good season but I'll be honest the trashing of French and his staff since the they left got old. I still hope they have a great season and I'll root for them but I think that talk will fade away now.

Yes, given what everyone was told, this is embarrassing. Chase Doan is a good running back, Conner crisp is good, Austin Barnes is good, most of the line is back, Xavier is a really good receiver, add in Mason Parsons and Kenny, we shouldn’t have missed a beat on offense. We have three linemen back from last year and two other kids that rotate in. We should be good offensively.
#7
Defensively, we were told we had the best defensive coordinator in the state, by the defensive coordinator. That has been proven absolutely false.
#8
O how much do you miss Coach French..
#9
french saw writing on the wall he got out while the getting was good
#10
Wrong:: Southwest faith didn’t realize what they had!!
Bash bash bash him and look at what you have.. middle school coaches

Wrong. You’re saying he left what he had coming back to race off to the fully stocked shelves of Middlesboro?? Southwestern Admin would not support as promised and I don’t have anything against current staff. Just thought the former staff was getting little to no respect for what they had done.
#12
I would say the Wayne faithful probably thinks they should be getting some credit not the loss of a coach that caused the loss. Players make plays.....

No offense intended against Wayne. Obviously a very good football team. Comment was mostly about the non-competitive nature of the game. Go Wayne go.

Wayne is very good. SW has been a big disappointment this year. Expected them to hold their own in first year of new coach.
#15
Meanwhile Middlesboro is 3-1

But he has won middle school championships.

Southwestern must be lacking a lot of talent, absolutely no way can this be blamed on the coaching staff. Coach Fooley and his college level staff won 4 middle school state championships and had a great record playing one of if not the toughest schedules in the state while at Taylor County. I’m certain Fooley will turn this thing around, win a district championship and make a very deep playoff run while proving he is hands down the best coach in Pulaski County and top five in the state.

Are you sure that it wasn't like that AT&T Wireless commercial where the customer asked him if he was the best tattoo artist in the city and he said that he was a tattoo artist in the city?

I don’t mean to come off so negative, I just don’t like the whole “rise of a new era”, “we are going to be more sound”, “we’ll have one of the best coaching staffs in the state” (literally we might have 7 years of high school coaching experience on staff). Our defense was good, our offense was good, our admin dropped the ball. How do you take a successful program and not retain a single coach from it. We are looking at putting up worse numbers than the Andy Stevens era (he also gave us our only region championship, but got fired). I’m also pretty sure all the posters who said Foley would own this town have gone into hibernation.

Considering what’s happening right now, this is a very underrated comment. You hit the nail on the head.

Congrats Wayne. They have a good team this year. They go to Harlan county next week in what should be a good game that they’ll probably win.

There are some really good players on that team and things may get better as the season progresses. I really hope they do. Most don't realize that SW has had 5 season in which they won 10 games and 4 of those 5 came during Larry's time there. Parents and fans need to hold administration accountable to support the Warriors the way Pulaski is supported.

Barnes had to sit out that game. He got a two game ejection. And the coaches wouldnt go and bat for him. They left him hanging out to dry.

Foley is a good coach. I believe that.

There isn’t a true QB at the high school and the best prospect is maybe a 7th grader. Or maybe #5 in 8th grade. Regardless they’ll need a couple years to get someone ready.

And they have a ton of injuries. That never helps.

There are several reasons things have been tough this year. Injuries have hurt, don't know about the suspension issues personally, but they have had some things go against them that they couldn't control. I also think Foley is a good coach and things will get better. My reason for the comments was mostly because of what I thought was unfair criticism of French and his staff. I know some of the boys playing at SW this year and I really hope they pull things together and salvage the season as best they can.

KHSAA backs their refs 100%. You can’t appeal a judgement call. Rule is you get tossed a game you have to sit the next. Unfortunately he got tossed first drive of KC game.
