Could get very interesting if the right person is chosen. North has a lot of talent returning and will have a solid team for the next several years.
Who is the favorite???

this Will be a great job for someone. Great young talent. Great area to live. Does not make since why you would leave this job for Bell County. Nothing against Bell, but does not seem like a good move at all. Maybe I am wrong.

I would get Coach Marcum from Clay, IF he is interested. They need to be smart with all this young talent and this move would be solid and safe. My opinion, Coach Marcum was the best coach in the region when he was at Clay.

Wow....that name never crossed my mind but thinking about it I agree 100%, it would be a home run hire, but would he be interested? His name would have to be in the mix if he really wanted the job. He works at the prison and I don't know if the Laurel Co BOE would allow him to coach if he didn't take a teaching position, also would any of the kids from Clay consider relocating if he got the job? That would certainly make things in the 49th interesting. Isn't it fun to speculate?

Interesting indeed.
There are several coaches in London who arenât teachers.
Coach Bowling wasnât a teacher when he was at North.

I certainly understand the interest but I would be shocked if Marcum fully accepted the coaching position at North. Although he was done wrong recently, that man knows most of Tiger Nation loves him, is a Bobby Keith product, and Clay County through and through (OBI isnât North). I could see why he would want to stick it to someone but deep down, I donât think he will. Also, very interesting that Sizemore left with the talent that wouldâve returned; unless of course someone wonât be there.

Jeff Sheppard will be the new coach at North Laurel. Tim Sizemore will be his head assistant.

Where did Coach Sizemore go?
05-10-2019, 02:00 PM
Is it even confirmed that Sizemore left?

This will be a big move in the right direction for North. Great talent coming up. I can see this as a very lucrative job for any coach. If Sheppard gets the job, I can see this program excelling in that region.

It would be a big shock in Bell County if he changed his mind. I heard they would have kept Coach Smith if they hadn’t made a deal with Sizemore.
05-10-2019, 05:26 PM
Sheppard I dont believe will have time to be a head high school coach
05-10-2019, 06:02 PM
Word is , Sizemoreâs wife is from Bell. She is getting a family resource center job and he is being paid almost 3 times what he was paid at North to coach.
05-11-2019, 05:07 AM
Does anyone know if Marcum would put in for the job? I know he turned down obi a few weeks ago.
05-11-2019, 02:58 PM
Sit back and get your popcorn ! Hold my beer lol! Whoever makes a deal with Black to get a certain player some playing time will be hired is what I have heard

Sources say that Marcum is interested in the job and would love nothing more than to stick it to the higher ups in Clay. This would instantly move North up to preseason #1 in the region....If Clay couldn't handle North last year....with Marcum as North Laurels leader....they wouldn't stand a chance this year. If North is smart they would hire him as soon as Sizemore signs with Bell (assuming he does).

Ryan Young would be a good choice if your looking at young coaches.

This will get screwed up badly, it's all they know how to do!! Instead of looking for a quality coach the incompetents will hire a good old boy at a discount price and lose the first true generational player they've ever had

It is official and the search begins. Who are the top prospects? Who is interested? Who is not?
05-17-2019, 08:07 PM
What about an assistant? Hibbard kid. Little A.
05-17-2019, 10:18 PM
Lil âAâ is coming home to coach at Clay next season as a assistant.
05-17-2019, 10:50 PM
I hear marcum (Clay) is the front runner if he puts in for it. Carson (Russell county) is a possibility. However, no comparison when you look at success and experience between these two. I hear Sheppard is not putting in for it. I haven't heard any other names thus far. Should be interesting the next couple weeks.
05-18-2019, 12:59 PM
Here's one other name that could definitely be in the mix. Elisha Justice. That's all I'm saying right now.
05-18-2019, 04:34 PM
If Marcum is interested, North Laurel don’t need to look any further. It’s a easy hire

Old D1 head coach is heavily involved along with Elisha Justice
05-19-2019, 10:31 PM
Joe B Hall??
05-20-2019, 01:11 AM
