I used to love coming here to find out info on terams, athletes and etc.
But anymore, you don't know if what you are reading is true or not. Why not be able to prove any post immediately or be suspended.
Maybe then, we could get back to only the truth.

boohoo whether or not you like what your reading it is the talk of the region you can read the title of the post and choose not to read it if you want.... maybe that would work better than making a post like this..... simply read the title of the thread your getting ready to click on and if you dont like what it says dont go read the posts

I agree with this post!! The world is far too serious these days and now we are told to not have any fun on a forum that is free!! This is why I left BG Preps and came here...because BG Preps is way too serious!!!! This is a public forum where people can say what they want and don't have to be identified so what else would you expect???

I don't mind rumor posts.
if you hear a rumor, state the rumor and see if anyone can shed light on it. Nothing wrong at all with that.
what I am tired of, is reading what some call gospel, and it turning out being an unsubstanciared rumor. Then, without offering any proof that it is fact, they get defensive when somebody calls them on it.
At least say hey, this is a rumor I heard, or....this is just my opinion.

I like the rumor posts, too. I don't take anything for gospel unless it has been announced on the news and sometimes even they get it wrong. lol

Yeah, rumors are ok, and sometimes even turn out to be facts, so in that way it's good for BGR to be the first to have the scoop. But at the same time, even though we are free, we still want to be considered a valid site to others.

We don't want people thinking that this place is complete bullshit because we don't monitor any of our posts. Yes, we value everyone's opinions, but I think what the guru and I are getting upset with are the completely bogus rumors that are going around.

Oh, and bball fan, I'm glad you like BGR over "that other site" but in all honesty there are still things you cannot say here. Yes it is free and an open forum, but you can still be identified if you do something out of line. If you need clarification, go to the home page and click on the "rules" link.

You hit the nail on the head. The most important thing about RUMOR threads is to be sure that you post "RUMOR" in the title and clearly state that it's a rumor you have heard.

The problem right now is that once someone starts a rumor thread, there are copycat rumor threads that aren't true and are only being created to stir up trouble.

This site doesn't belong to QQ or any administrator. It belongs to you, so treat it that way guys. This site is here because it's your voice to be heard for FREE, instead of giving some jerk $15 for membership fees to keep up his cigarette habit.

Have some respect for yourself before you post something because it reflects upon you and other members of the site.

It's OK to post a rumor, just be sure to put "rumor" in the title of the thread. A good inside rumor is interesting and just use your best judgement. If you hear a rumor that JBS is going to consolidate with Knott Central so they can increase their chances of dominating the 14th Region, then you should realize that's crap and don't post it.

Just use your judgement. And keep posting.
